Question about ND Stadium Ticket Scalpers
I'm highly interested in making the trip to the game on Saturday, but I'm having a hell of a time finding tickets for under $150-$200 anywhere (eBay, Stubhub, craigslist, etc). I'm considering driving down there and just trying to buy tickets off scalpers, but I've never been to South Bend for a game so I don't know what the scalper situation is like.
So, to anybody who's been to Notre Dame Stadium in recent years -- how abundant are scalpers around the stadium? Would I have a decent shot at a deal?

There should be enough scalpers for you to find something. I'd follow the advice of others who've visited other stadiums... buy a 5 dollar ND shirt and you may be able to purchase tix for less. There are people who sell tickets though.
I think you'll occassionally find normal Joe's as well just looking to sell a ticket because they have an extra here and there.

Traffic in South Bend is horrible on gamedays, so make sure you get there with enough time to walk around and find something.

I went there in 2006, now obviously a much bigger game, but I didnt see more than 3 people selling tickets the entire time I was there. Seriously, not even selling i was offering 3-4 hundo and couldnt even get a single person to talk to me.
I would not count on there being a huge surplus of tickets. The town is small and so is the stadium. That extra 30,000 at Michigan Stadium really does free up a few tickets.
I'm not saying that you wont be able to find a ticket, I just wouldnt count on it being like Michigan Stadium where you can walk up to any corner and get a ticket for around face.
I have been to lots of away games, and notre dame is by far the hardest ticket to scalp.

The one thing I remember is that they might not let you park in certain parking lots if you don't have a ticket for the game. I seem to remember they might even have a roadblock at some point and either check for tickets or ask where you're going. I tried my best to block out the memory from two years ago, so if anyone else remembers better, that'd be great.

The best bet to find a good priced ticket is to wait until right about kickoff or even a few minutes after. Then , the people with tickets left will be looking to just get rid of them and make whatever they can as apposed to eating the whole ticket. You might miss the first few minutes (which, in Denard time, means 150 yds rushing and 2 td's ) but you should get a fairly priced seat.

I thought about doing this, however I realized that people may be able to pass their tickets back through the gate and sell me an invalid ticket...
