TomVH: Chris Wormley Update
2012 DE Chris Wormley has already become a fan favorite, and has been added to everyone's wish list for the '12 recruiting class. He was in the Big House today for the game, and told me he enjoyed himself. "It was good, I talked to the coaches a little bit about things," he said. The hot topic with Wormley was that although he's a Michigan fan, Ohio State currently leads because they were showing him the most "love."
Now that September 1st has passed, and the coaches are allowed to make more contact with him, they're making every effort to do so. "The coaches told me how much they want me. I want them to keep doing that, and just make me feel better about them," said Chris. It seems that time and more communication can cure that, which the coaches will continue to do.
I asked him if this visit, and the win, helped Michigan's chances at all. He said, "Yeah, a little." Chris likes to play it close to the vest, but I think this was a step in the right direction for him. The coaches invited him to the game, and will be able to now show him more "love."

Wormley's ridiculously talented, almost a shoo-in for five star status. Looks like we're gaining ground back, inch by inch.

He's a stud, plus he goes to school 10 minutes from where I grew up so getting a commit from him would feel extra special.

If a Junior is getting any more "Love" from one school as opposed to another before Sept. 1 doesn't that raise anyones's eyebrows? I'm not accusing the school down south of anything fishy because I don't know the rules verbatum nor do I have facts. I would, however, like to know how they are even capable of showing more "love" than M until now.
Perhaps I should take comfort in the fact that it appears that RR and his staff are being extremely careful and aboveboards with their recruitment of these young men. BRAVO!

When you start to hear recruits commonly say that other schools are showing them more love before September 1 (or any NCAA mandated deadline) it makes you wonder how much other schools are breaking the rules. Where's the jihad against illegal recruiting against teams like OSU, Alabama, Florida, etc. if you continually hear recruits talk about being contacted by them when it's not allowed (if Tom has to tell recruits they haven't heard from Michigan because it's a dead period, something illegal is happening).

It's unfortunate that the other schools don't have an angry jihadist local media...

Poor choice of words when you say "playing it close to the vest."
Just kidding Tom, you're the best ;-)
