Purdue or Notre Dame on Saturday?
In line with the Marshall v. Ohio State post below, who are you pulling for in the Purdue / ND game?
A) Big 10 all the way - Go Boilers;
B) F Notre Dame every game no matter who they play;
C) We want a 1-0 Notre Dame in week 2;
D) We want an 0-1 demoralized Notre Dame in week 2;
E) Screw Purdue and/or Danny Hope;
F) Mavre to fail and create QB chaos in W. Lafayette - weaken their team long term;
G) Other (explain).

I rarely want ND to win but Danny Hope is such a wanker that I really want ND to shred them.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:01 AM ^
promisingly to some denouement where Purdue prevails?
September 2nd, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
G) hope for several non-serious 2 week injuries for Notre Dame players.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:03 AM ^
I want no excuses, but if it happens they'll just blame the refs anyway.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:26 AM ^
Most of the time I want no excuses. This year, I'll take wins however we can get them.
September 2nd, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
I realized I had just voted to have OSU massacreed. So I'll go with the equally enticing plan. . . B.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:00 AM ^
I want Purdue to win cuz I hate Notre Dame almost as much as I hate Ohio St and love everytime that overrated Notre Dame team loses!
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:01 AM ^
B,D,E FTW
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:03 AM ^
G) I'm rooting for the meteor
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:04 AM ^
Is Charlie Weis still hungry?
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:05 AM ^
I just hope it goes into never-ending OT's and wears out the Irish for next week.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:20 PM ^
F-- both teams in the ass. I guess the best scenario for Blue is that Notre Dame wins in an emotional last minute fashion and they come in flat to play us in South Bend.
Regardless of who wins, Michigan will still beat ND in South Bend.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:06 AM ^
I'm just interested to see both teams play with all the mystery/hype surrounding each.
If I had to choose, I would pick ND to win, but look real bad.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:07 AM ^
Purdue.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:07 AM ^
Purdue steamrolls ND with decent run attack and special teams but Mavre fails. Purdue's defense pulls it out with a dominating performance including a fumble/interception return so we get to see both QBs' confidence shaken.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:12 AM ^
I would love to see Danny Hopeless get embarrassed on national TV, and it would be great to see an arrogant ND strut into the Michigan game with a sense of entitlement. Imagine how those writers who are currently predicting Michigan to play .500 ball this year would suddenly change their tune if Michigan defeated an overhyped and overconfident ND team in South Bend.

September 2nd, 2010 at 11:16 AM ^
I'd root for Satan before I would ever root for Notre Dame.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:00 PM ^
Because if you hear them talk, that's exactly what you're doing for rooting against them.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:22 AM ^
I wish both teams could lose or tie or something. But I would have to pull for the Big Ten team.
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:28 AM ^
Purdue, absolutely, plus I want ND demoralized (I want any advantage we can get)
September 2nd, 2010 at 11:31 AM ^
B, D, and G.
@ND looks like our toughest nonconference game if Brian Kelly gets ND resembling his 2009 Cincy team at all. I'm hoping for the "Fall of Crist" and both sides of the ball struggling with new schemes. I'd really like for the ND game to look more like a winnable road game rather than a tossup.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:06 PM ^
I want them to beat PU 49-0 so that the national media will be slobbering all over BK all week and pronouncing that "Notre Dame is back!"
Not to mention I dislike Danny Hope as much as I do Dantonio. They're cut from the same cloth—douchebags who've beaten us two years in a row, which makes their douchebaggery all the more irritating.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:12 PM ^
likewise, i will be pulling for huge UM victory.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:08 PM ^
I dislike Purdue and Danny, their hillbilly coach. But, I don't have any long-term fear of them as a program. Too many things stand in the way of them becoming a perennial 8/9/10-win team.
On the other hand, I fear ND at least a little bit. There's a lot standing in the way of their return to prominence, but it's at least in the realm of reality.
Go, Purdue.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
I could give two steaming pantloads about Purdue or Notre Dame. However, I bet Purdue (+11, I think) so I'm hoping they at least keep it close.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:20 PM ^
I'm rooting for Purdue, however I do not have high hopes.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:28 PM ^
Without a doubt, it's gotta be B! I want nd and osu to lose every single game they play.
Period.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:28 PM ^
ND. Kelly would probably have them super fired up if they lost cause he'd be looking at a 0-2 start. And Hope is an assclown. ND will shred them. Purdue's defense is awful, and they lose their RB and have an overrated QB.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:44 PM ^
I'm gonna assume Notre Dame is the better team, so I'd prefer that they win. Makes our resume more impressive, even though we do play Purdue this season, too. Plus, Danny Hope is a dummy.
September 2nd, 2010 at 12:49 PM ^
3-0 in 5OT
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
Charlie Weis to return and engulf the entire stadium in blackness-- a la the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Seriously, probably Purdue since you never leave an opportunity to put your foot down on the neck of a rival with a new coach (see: Tressel's first year)
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:02 PM ^
I was thinking more like ND in seven overtimes. Then Marve throws a pick-6 in the last OT and transfers to Delaware St. ND moves to #1 in the polls, and gets roughed up next week, striking fear in the hearts of all of Michigan's opponents for the rest of the year. Something like that.
Honestly, though, it is sad that there has to be a winner in a game like this. However, we really need to win the Purdue game (Big Ten game; winnable game during a tough stretch), so I hope that the Marve thing is as overblown as I believe it to be.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:12 PM ^
I'm firmly in the B) camp, even it means I'm cutting off my nose to spite my face. Part of growing up around South Bend I guess.
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:16 PM ^
I thought it said you were in the "BJ Camp"...and I thought, who's not?
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:56 PM ^
My grandpa is the biggest ND fan alive. He's 83, he was in the battle of the bulge, he was one of the first soldiers to liberate Dachau, he's a great man, and he told us he wants to go to South Bend one more time while he can still walk to his seat. I must say guys, you couldn't take the smile off of his face with jackhammer when we told him, it's going to be special. Obviously I would have rather gone next week, but that ticket was tough to get.
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:13 PM ^
Can we hope that a comet strikes the stadium such that no one wins except everyone else on earth?
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:14 PM ^
I want ND to look as vulnerable as possible.
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:27 PM ^
I'm hoping for a 6-3 game where Dane Christ can't do anything right. Brian Kelly looks like a leprechaun and I don't know why but I can't stand him. Probably because he coaches ND but I hated him before that because of how cocky he is.
September 2nd, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
game this year. So, ND beats PU. BUT, ND's celebration is short lived, Crist is punished and sacked 15+ times and in a massive bout with depression quits football and gets a sex change all before the UM game.
September 2nd, 2010 at 3:26 PM ^
G) Boiler up! Purdue grad 2005
September 2nd, 2010 at 5:04 PM ^
Danny Hope is sooo bush league.
