Thanks for posting these.  It's awesome to see how confident and hard working these freshman are.  Really makes me confident in the young men RR and company continue to bring in each February.  Really think Fitz and Jibreel are going to contribute quite a bit this season.  GO BLUE!!!

Wow.  Black thinks Lewan is the best pass blocker.  If that is true, it might be hard to keep Lewan off of the field.  It is nice to see us developing depth at some positions that were very thin when RR arrived on campus.

I found it interesting that Fitz said that Cox has the most talent of all the backs.  And he said it very matter of fact.  If he stays focused and learns the playbook well I think he's your partner for Smith.

I've read so many of these I can't cite the source, but I've heard other players saying Cox was the most talented of the bunch.  Given his lack of recruiting hype and modest PT, I've always thought of him as a low-ceiling type (and a bivouac model).

...game at Rynearson, Tim reports:

varsityblue Will Campbell and freshman walkon K Jeremy Ross here to see their respective alma maters as well. Toussaint is on crutches but no boot, btw.

So, Fitz is stll healing.

Also this:

varsityblue DGardner, DRobinson, CGordon, WHagerup, and FToussaint hanging out at Eastern to see future teammate Delonte Hollowell.

After Brown, Minor, McGuffie, Shaw, Smith, and Toussaint, we just need one who can stay healthy. Fitz ain't close to being Mike Hart in that department, unfortunately.

but he says in the interview that his neck is getting treatment. So he's banged up down below and up high. Dang. Sounds like he's a scratch for UConn to me.

chance to seal up the starting running back job. I like the idea of Cox and Hopkins being a nice 1-2 punch for us.  It seems like we have last minute RB issues every year to me... We need to start putting the backs in those ugly maize uni's when we get close to the start of the year.
