What's the point of the Recruiting Board if it's not updated weekly?

I am not trying to be a dick, but Posada and Fisher are not blue. Bryant doesn't have an offer. Justice Hayes is still green. These are a few examples. Why have it if it is not updated consistently?

Hey man, Brian isn't Mr. Lebowski, man. He's the Dude. So that's what you call him. The Dude wakes up at 11AM and scratches his unmentionables and plugs in. He'll get to it, man. Until then you can sit there and just like, do your own thing. Have a Bud and a smile.

I'm not tech savvy enough - I know that if you sign up for RSS it will put the new front paged items in it, but then I just check my reader just as often. Is there a way to get your phone to send you a notification when something gets posted on the front page? If there's a board post about this I'd appreciate a link to find it. Thanks!

if you are trying to get your recruiting crack fix at mgoblog.  This is a UM sports blog and a community.

Tom gives great content.  FOllow him on twitter if you need to and subscribe to GBW or Rivals if you need up to the second recruiting info.

You want premium recruiting info for free............... Beveled Guilt is calling your name.

I agree, I think every single thing a recruit says should be texted to me. I mean its recruiting in August. Everything that happens now is so important.

Seriously settle down!

Plus the idea of being that into the status of high school football players is a little creepy, that you have to know their status on a daily basis.

Read the posts, follow the great work by Tom, and you will have all of the information you need.

I don't see why this is an unreasonable question.  If the board is up, it should probably be maintained.  If it's too much work for not enough value return, just kill it.

I keep checking when Tim posts it's been updated and it hasn't, so forgive Impaler for asking.  (Or maybe I'm misinterpreting the comment in Tim's post yesterday as being a specific notice of updating rather than a general reminder: "Remember, all-time updates can be found on the 2011 Michigan Football Recruiting Board.")

Naturally it doesn't have to be updated on our schedule, but I thought I'd read something about a glitch in the Board post and was just wondering, since it's looked the same now for several weeks.

There's a big difference between:

"Hey Brian, do you plan to keep the recruiting board updated?"

and

"I am not trying to be a dick, but Posada and Fisher are not blue. Bryant doesn't have an offer. Justice Hayes is still green. These are a few examples. Why have it if it is not updated consistently?"

Link us to it when you are finished.  Most will thank you for providing a free service.  One or two dicks will complain that you don't update it often enough.

Yeah, I can't really disagree with the OP.  The board is pointless unless it's frequently updated.

However, I'm not saying I need it to be updated because, as others have said, TomVH/Tim's posts provide all the information you need.  It just seems kinda superfluous.

I love how everyone defends brian like I am attacking him.  Some of you have realized that the Recruiting Board is not updated and mention that is should be removed for lack of maintenance.

i have realized that it is not updated.  i have also realized that as we get closer and closer to real events happening, there are probably a few more important things to do than to semi-concretize the decisions, leanings and inuendo of 18 year olds 6 months prior to signing day. between "hello" posts, "the game" posts, the up-coming "know thine enemy" post, YESTERDAY's recruiting post, YESTERDAY'S friday night lights post, Twolf-gate, daily coach and player presser coverage, unverified voracities and all the other miscellaneous tidbits, i am very happy and satisfied with the level of MGoBlog's free service.  i don't think you realize how much goes into this.

this is the equivalent of watching your chickens fuck so that you can count your eggs before they hatch.

I do have to spend some time at work doing work. Some peoples lives may depend on it. Literally. Sometimes I miss something or just plain forget stuff. I agree with Impaler that it would be nice if it were a little more up to date. It's nice to have, even if it's not completely current, but I would love to see it current.

There are various websites out there.  You can't expect Brian and Co. to be everything you've ever wanted.  If you want to update it, maybe Brian will let you.  If you want to make your own recruiting board, go for it.  If you want to see who exactly has been offered and such, go elsewhere.  Subscribe to Rivals or Scout.

But this post was kind of lame.

if he had emailed that post verbatim to Brian (which in hindsight he probably should have done); he would have received a nice response in return probably saying something to the effect of . . "yeah our bad, we've been a little busy, will get to it as soon as we can."

no attacks, no excuses, no "why don't you find another website and STFU."

Stop menstrating and start practicing your victory dance for Sept. 4th.

Go to SB Nation.  Find a site that provides 80% of the content Brian and Tim do.  Realize that site doesn't have to perform its own maintenance, doesn't have a board, diaries, points, etc.  Be grateful for what you have.

Brian and Co.  have enough to do during the day.  And since recruiting really doesn't heat up until much later its assinine to expect that it should be updated daily / weekly.  Keep up the good work Brian.  GO BLUE
