I'm in Chicago. I'm going to go to the Big Ten Media Hootenanny and see if I get kicked out or stabbed or something. If I don't I hope to ask Joe Tiller "if there's a gentleman's agreement amongst Big Ten teams not to recruit each other's verbal commitments, how did Michigan State commit Garrett Bushong end up signing with Purdue?"

After his head explodes I'll try to get up a post in the afternoon.

For now, links and such.

Adieu. Michigan's put out the fall roster; Marques Slocum is not on it. There are no other unexpected departures.

No. I don't know the female t-shirt model's name. Or her phone number.

What? Speaking of Tiller, I ran across this article from a few days ago in a Wyoming paper on the Big Ten's most walrusy coach:

"But since I've announced my retirement, it's amazing to me how many people come up and thank me and say they're appreciative. I'm thinking, 'Where were they a year ago when the bloggers were nailing me for losing to Michigan in Ann Arbor?'"

No offense to the two burgeoning Purdue blogs Off The Tracks and Boiled Sports, but they were probably sitting around being totally unaware of the internet firestorm raging inside their computers, just like the great majority of Michigan fans assume you had heat stroke you said "great game from Tacopants today."

Is this a good deal? Alabama and Clemson are opening the season in Atlanta. Kudos to them; the trend of moving football games off campus is far less annoying than the one in which no one plays anyone. But I wonder if it's worth it:

Alabama and Clemson will reportedly earn nearly $2 million apiece for their season-opening matchup in Atlanta.

Quick calculation suggests that $4 million divided by 90k (the approximate capacity of Bryant-Denny) is about 44 bucks, and we know that on average SEC tickets go for well more than that. So why not just have a home-and-home?

Diaries. SpartanNation drops in and gives us a taste of what we have coming; it's ugly. Chrisgocomment provides some further perspective on Carr's career. And wolvrine32 lists Michigan Commandments that Rich Rodriguez is enjoined to follow.

...so that insomniacs like me can get their fix anytime, anyplace! Thanks brian :) Good luck getting to Tiller. I feel like under stress he says "harumph" a lot and blows spittle through his walrustache.

I almost set myself up for the Orson blog-stud award by saying the t-shirt model isn't that hot; but when I refreshed the page she was wearing a yellow shirt that was much more flattering to her than the blue one, which gives her a weird triangle shape. Dodged a bullet there.

Awesome dude, I'm excited to read your post this afternoon about the Media Day. WOOO nice work joining the ranks of the MSM. I'm guessing any MSM member that realizes that you are a blogger are going to look at you like a parasite.

Man, I really hope Taco Pants has no more eligibility left. Brian, good luck with media day.......I believe Trent and Jamieson will be there, and we expect you to score some interviews. Ask Trent about his hand! lol. The media days are generally vanilla affairs, so if you drop that question on Tiller it will certainly create a stir. I would love to be there when and if you do that.

Why not a home and home? Simple. If you say that each team could make $4M off of a home game, going home and home gives each team $4M one year followed by roughly $0 the next. Playing a one game, neutral site, series, allows both schools to make $2M this year followed by returning to cupcake central the following year for a $4M gate, averaging $3M a year. Assuming this is not a two game series, basically the two schools are trading the difference between their home gate and $2M for the impression of legitimate non-conference scheduling. If the schools are playing twice in Atlanta, then yeah, home and home would make more sense.

Since I'm moving to the east I am in the market for a ticket to the Penn State road game Oct 18. I checked mgoblue.com yesterday but they'd either sold out already or they don't have any to sell through the site. Any ideas anybody? Much appreciated.

BGH, Will is another one of us, thus has unrealistic expectations of women outside the bubble that is the Yuppie Farm. In related news, that girl in the In Rod We Trust/Simpsons shirt looks amazingly like a dude.

No ripping on the t-shirt model girl. I think the requests for her name/number will outnumber the folks claiming she's not at least cute. Or maybe she's only cute to indie/blogger-types? I guess I'm part of that community, then. Either way, unnecessary anonymous internet derision definitely deserves Orson's seal. On another note, speaking of MSM - anyone notice espn's "Blogosphere" so huge on their homepage... interesting is all I have to say.

Am I the only one who's figured out that you can turn off MGoLesbian if you click 'my account', 'edit' and uncheck the box (after you buy like 10 tshirts)?

Her name is Diana and she is an actress/model in Los Angeles.

We had a good laugh over whether or not she is attractive. In person, there is no doubt.

Clearly, Brian needs an MGOHotorNot so some people who so so cavalierly rip on these people can get some judging of themselves in.

The thing I hate most is that Joe Tiller has made a comment that every message board comedian is going to run into the ground for at least as long as Rodriguez will have to answer questions about West Viginia. It's not exactly a comment, though, that needs a place in Michigan lore, though no doubt people who routinely think 1000 year old jokes are great will be hauling "snake oil" out of mothballs until someone finally hits the wrong Hot Button somewhere and all the world's nuclear missiles are launched and we're all dead.

Who else would have the guts to ask Joe Tiller about the Big Ten's "gentleman agreement" and then bring up Garrett Bushong's name? Go Brian! Would love to see Coach Tiller's face during that question.
