Does MGoBlue cover the keyboard damage that ensued from drooling in awe of the cornerbacks? Yes I know it's a two minute clip but any good clip of good coverage is enough to make me optimistic.

does good blitzing and a positive attitude = lockdown corner?

:P

edit: in all fairness, yes it was nice to see JT and the freshmen catching up to receivers and using their hands well.

Nice to see the defense making some solid plays. Floyd looks excellent. I liked where he diagnosed the rush early and charged right in to make the tackle.

Pretty sure that was a designed CB blitz.  If our DBs have free reign to read run and leave their coverage responsibilities to the wind ... we might give up some big plays.

Still a couple of nice tackles though, especially on that blitz.

I gotta say I have loved what I have been seeing from all of the countdown videos. I feel like every day, I have a new favorite player. RR seems to be recruiting smart, classy guys, and hopefully they prove to be an equally talented squad on the field...which I believe they will. Anyone complaining about the "lack of a family environment" at UM need only look as far as the countdown vids. Every single one has included continual shout outs to teammates. Totally excited about this team.

With all the anguish around here recently, I think we forgot that we have some talent at corner.  As star-gazers, we are always looking for the 5-star corner, but those are rare, more than we need THIS year and don't always live up to the hype.

Meanwhile, I believe JT Floyd was committed to Tennessee prior to coming to Michigan (was he a Kiffin recruit?)  Also, James Rogers played some corner his freshman year and is an experienced player.  Finally, Avery and Cullen are both naturally talented, but young.  As long as these guys are "coached up" (did Gibson turn Mundy around?), then we will be able to stop people through the air.

I believe Bruce Tall was the safeties coach when Mundy was there, but someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

Regardless, Adam Brathwaite is the safeties coach now.  It's not clear by your post whether you were aware of that or not.

finally some db time! Good see them making big strides out there! Great to see how well JT handles himself on and off the field.  Seems quicker, and real confident!

I was going to make a Board post about Floyd, good thing I checked for this first.

Among what others have said, this video made me realize 2 things

1) I really like JT Floyd, and hope he has a stellar year not just for selfish reasons or just for The Team, but because he seems like a great guy who deserves to do well

2) the DBs look good. I mean really good. I am reassured even with that small clip. Him describing another corner as "so fast" and calling him "The Jet," and saying they are all working really hard. He addressed their youth, yet assured that they are working extremely hard. That makes me more than just a little relieved, though I know it must be proven on the field.

Seems like the DB's are actually able to stick with our WR's.  Good to see, as long as we just don't give up the 3rd and long's all season long we will be ok.

JT just became my new fav amongst the defensive players, a real class act and that goes for everyone that we've seen in the countdown videos. After all the knocks RR has taken since he came up here im glad to see that he's still recruiting and producing respectful classy players. HAIL!!

The secondary lacks experience, but isn't short on talent and ability. I'm not sure we have any future 1st round NFL CB's, but I'll take 4 or 5 solid kids who can cover and tackle, and I think Avery, CC and Talbott look very impressive for true freshman. As for Floyd, I think many Michigan fans have sold this kid way short with regard to his ability. He'll never be an elite athlete with track speed, but he'll work his ass off to be one of the best corners in the Big Ten the next 3 years.

Lining up against Stonum everyday in practice will help push JT and make him a better cover corner!  Does anyone know whos gonna be the other safiety starting with Cam Gordon, I hope its Vlad Emilien over Jordan Kovacs!
