New Brock Videos Up

Submitted by weasel3216 on

So i just saw that Brock has added two new videos of him walking on his youtube profile.  Still using the canes a lot but still amazing the recovery he has made in less than two years now.   As long as RR follows through on his word then it is less than two weeks before one of the most emotional moments in Michigan football history.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBef_uBeYt4&feature=sub

I was not questioning RR on his commitment to Brock, more as i wondering how it would work.  I always pictured Brock in the very front followed by the entire team; but while watching the video i noticed Brock still takes a while to get from point A to point B.  I was just thinking that Michigan would want the first entrance into the Big House to be fast and full of energy and not slow paced.

Just to clarify i am not taking anything away from Brock, it is amazing that he is able to do what he is currently doing.  I am just stating the fact that Brock has to walk at a slower pace.

...can do will be enough for me.

My guess is they'll introduce Brock as he walks to midfield joiining the crowd at the banner to thunderous applause from the crowd.  Then the team will do the traditional touch the banner entrance.

But, however it's done, it will be special.  It bothers me none if they delete the traditional rush the field entrance for this game.

i would love to see the team walking behind him even at the slow pace pumping up the crowed. Thats what I am hoping for.

I know I'm going to be a huge sucker and tear up like a kid who skinned his knee when I see the team and Brock take the field.

2 more short weeks!!! GO BLUE!!!

I am looking forward to this as much as I am the game. I really hope it is televised and all viewers are informed of the story.

Since ABC/ESPN2 is covering the game it would be nice to see parts of the E:60 segment with additional recovery footage added.  Maybe make a three to five minute video to sum it up as best as possible.  Nothing will ever do the recovery justice, but this is one of those stories in sports that makes sports like nothing else.

How do people seeing this being set-up?  My first thought is Brock, solo, walks from the tunnel past the banner, as the team stands in the tunnel, just visible to the crowd.  About 5 yards behind Brock as he walks, are Elliott and either his mother, or Elliott arm-in-arm with Barwis on one side and the other S&C coach who seems to have been a big part of this on his other side.

What an incredible moment this is going to be.

Seeing this really puts things into perspective.  The important things in life are often over shadowed.  I'm so stoked to see Brock get his move on like that.  Keep up the incredible work Brock!!

I like, no, I love the idea of him walking out at his needed pace. Possibly with his bro and Barwis or something. Then the entire team in rows walking slowly directly behind him holding hands, seeming almost not even crazy pumped, but emotionally moved and incredibly focused.

Think about it as a uconn player watching this scene. Holy crap, i would feel incredible mixed  emotions, and then instant fear.

Whatever happens, that whole place is going to be going nuts, and i can't wait to be there.

I was thinking the other day of whether or not he'd be able to jump up and touch the banner. (Having no idea how far along he is progressing). Just the fact he can walk is amazing, and incredibly inspiring.

...on how Brock will lead the team out:

- Brock Mealer addressed the media before Rodriguez (we’ll have more on that later). Fans have repeatedly asked how he will lead the team out onto the field. According to Rodriguez, Mealer, who was paralyzed in a 2007 car crash Dec. 24 that killed his father and his brother’s girlfriend (redshirt sophomore O-Lineman Elliott), will walk ahead of the Wolverines as they walk arm-in-arm behind him. He will touch the M Go Blue banner and will then drift off to the side as the Maize and Blue storm the field, like always.

I was letting my 3 and 5 yr old run around on the field, and I was standing near the tunnel.  I noticed a young man in a wheel chair nearby, wearing a coaches polo, and had UM stickers on his wheel chair.  I took a chance and approached him, asking if he is Brock.  He said he was, and I told him how inspirational his reocvery has been, how many people are pulling for him and we're all excited to see him walk out the tunnel on the 4th.  We had a little more idle chit chat, and I ribbed him about going to OSU.  All in all, it was about a 2-3 minute conversation, but I could tell he is an exceptional person, and seemed to be quite upbeat.

Just wanted to relay this little tidbit, and let everyone know how excited I was to meet him.
