Professional Hottie Says Tate To Transfer Comment Count

Brian

UPDATE: Professional hottie's tweet has disappeared. You can safely ignore the below, I think.

Um… so this person…

melanie_collins

…has a twitter that says this:

Very reliable source telling me Tate Forcier requested a transfer from #Michigan this AM. NOT yet confirmed, will update as I know more.

I'd link it but I'm getting fail whales and am suffused with an overwhelming ennui.

Not to disparage smoking hot bikini models or anything, but I'd probably take Mike Rothstein's word over hers. Then again she has done some sideline work for the Big Ten Network—the entire reason this is credible enough to bother with—and Rothstein is not banging out strenuous denials and this is Michigan post-Bo so it's probably true and all she left out its that he's hiring someone to bash Denard's knee in, Tonya Harding style.

Mike Forcier, Tate's dad, laughed at the transfer rumors. Said they aren't true, and he wouldn't support it anyways.

Unfortunately the " Tate Forcier is genetically predisposed to transfering " BS just won't die.  I trust TomVH's sources a little more than little miss blondie's.

This is where I don't like the information at our fingertips...someone says something you don't like and you are forced to wonder and waste time worrying about it...yeah she's hot, but all it takes is a quote with "reliable source"...yeah yeah..  I'm sure Tate is pleased with the wingless helmet talk and now this...keep it up and he will be gone.

I'm sure Dorsey is still shaking his head at us.

Problem is that there are precisely zero consequences associated with doing something like this. It'd be one thing if it was some random person. But this woman is, apparently, using her association with the Big Ten Network to break potentially significant news. It turns out to be fake, and I bet nothing happens to her.

The first thing that ran through my mind was "Sweet Christ, he's going to OSU."  I have no doubt in my mind that's where he would have ended up.  As a Packers fan, the Favre nightmares would return in a much more cruel way.

If it can be proven she Twittered this as an attention whoring stunt to get her name out here, I'm buying out the entire inventory at Ann Arbor Torch and Pitchfork.   The fact you look good in a bikini will not save you from the wrath of this fan base.

It was one of the "Big Ten Tailgate" features for BTN.  I thought she was hot.  I still think she's hot.

Hot, and dumb, and credulous, and deluded and careless.

She should meet me for a drink, and discuss some better sources for information in Ann Arbor.

(Slightly more seriously, but not too seriously since she really doesn't merit it, I think she got engaged to an NHL player.  Am I mistaken about that?  Do I have a chance, when we get together for that drink, or not?  I do not want to drop the gloves with somebody in the NHL.  She's not that hot.)

I think my love with Michigan football this week can be summed up in the words of Matt Groening...

"Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come."

I have never wanted a football game to get here in my life like I want UCONN.  This off the field gunk has officially defeated me.

I can't even find myself to think this girl is even decent looking.

That's how bad it's gotten.

Remember a few days ago when you were bemused at how quiet the off season has been? Now you're drinking Cointreu and putting eye candy on the main page.

To paraphrase kenny rogers, there's time to count the money when the deal is done. I have friends who wont let me speak during games due to past transgressions testing fate. Never taunt the quiet offseason again.

Seriously, though, who the fuck was her source, Jeff Defran or something. Or Maizeman? Give me a break.

I'm done with threads about this, but seriously, what is it about pre-season camp under Rodriguez.  I'll give them a pass the first year--the fevered speculation was mainly due to the implementation of a new offense and a who the hell is going to play QB level of terror.  Last year, we still had the QB issue to deal with, a 3-9 season, and then the practice violations came along.  I'm not rehashing the past couple days, but the fear was even beforehand.

Seriously, can I get put in a coma for a while?

I think it is because he never definitively declares a starter. So the whole season is filled with speculation. I know he does it to make each person on the team more competitive, but most people out there can't seem to handle an uncertain world. So that fuels speculation and snooping ...

I think professional hottie should stick to being a swimsuit model, she is obviously very good at it.  However, she does not belong on the Big Ten Network or any other TV station pretending like she is an acutual journalist.

She needs to keep her mouth shut, wear bikinis, and continue to look spectacular.

From her twitter feed:

My mistake on letting you all in on something I was told today. I did not "report" or "confirm" this information. Simply shared what  a source within UM told me and I shouldn't have tweeted it without confirmation. Wasn't trying to start an uproar.

If you find yourself confused as to the journalistic distinction between "reporting" and "letting us in" and "sharing" you're probably not alone.

she's not even with BTN anymore. so apparently a source "within UM" randomly decided to tell NOT sharp, NOT rosenberg, NOT Valenti, NOT Sam Webb, NOT the Michigan Daily, NOT MGoBlog, NOT College Football Live on ESPN but the girl who wore a bikini who's been in the business for 2 years a monumental transfer story that most of us had no idea existed except perhaps "did you see that girl who was in a bikini? no not that one. no not her. no, she doesn't have red hair. yah, c-o-l-l-i-n-s. yah, google that. yah her"

possible? yes.

likely? no.

Her twitter feed says she's back with BTN in the fall to host Friday Night Tailgate and as a sideline reporter:

Otherwise, agree with everything above.

Since she's doing journalism-type things for BTN, I'm having a very, very hard time accepting the "sharing" and "letting you in on something I heard" vs. I didn't confirm it and I wasn't "reporting."  If she doesn't know what's wrong with simply passing along a rumor, given her capacity as a BTN employee (even a seasonal one), she shouldn't be working at BTN.

If she's a reporter, she just hears this information, and la-da I'll throw it out there but not follow up?  Wouldn't you jump on this pretty gd big story and be working all day to confirm it?  Did she have to go tanning?

This, with all the other evidence, is enough for me to sleep tonight.  It all points to bullshit.  I was very excited earlier to hear positive news (secondhand on the board) on Tate's attitude.  But I'll still have an echo in the back of my head until the team confirms it's all BS tmw

So since that's a pain in the ass to Michigan, someone at the school should be ligting up BTN's front office tmw, who in turn will let Pretty Penn State Pants know she should take the job a little more seriously
