I'm shocked that that was all they gave up for John Beck...the Skins have a backup quarterback now and the Ravens no longer have to decide who will be their three qbs between Bulger, Beck, Flacco and Smith.  This trade probably happened because one of the Ravens corners went down yesterday with an injury.  I think it was foxworth but don't quote me on that.

...the Redskins' release of Colt Brennan, which has been confirmed.

Rich_Campbell I can confirm that Colt Brennan has been released.

Shows how deep and talented some of the past UM teams were.  Dutch hardly saw the field at UM, but now he's getting some NFL attention.

RR is making progress re-stocking the rosterr and hopefully we can get back to the point where our back-ups are getting looks from the NFL!

From Wikipedia

He started out his collegiate football career as a wide receiver wearing the number 81. He redshirted his freshman year. During his sophomore year he saw limited time as a reserve wide receiver and punt returner, catching 4 passes for 34 yards and returning 2 punts for 9 yards. Before his senior season he converted to cornerback and switched to number 35. He saw limited time on special teams and recorded one tackle. Dutch was again a reserve defensive back and special teamer during his final year of eligibility in 2008.

The Matt Guttierrez of WR.  4 college receptions and the guy is in the freaking NFL.

Never realized he switched to DB.

I can't believe that Dutch is in the NFL. Good for him.

And I always thought that Colt Brennan was nothing more than the 21st century Andre Ware—a guy playing on a team with an offensive system designed to maximize passing numbers. No surprise to me at all.

CBSsports.com has a link to "Players" (on their NFL menu) where you can link to college alumni by college.  It's not always quite up to date (not surprisingly, Doug Dutch is still listed as with the Redskins, but Crable has already been removed completely).  Brandon Harrison is still listed with the Eagles, and I don't believe he's on their roster.  But I see the Bears have finally given a number to Greg Mathews as well as to Brandon Minor (I hope that's a good sign), but no number for Rueben Riley at the Giants (hope that's not a bad sign).
