OT - Dez Bryant unaware of hazing tradition
http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/news/story?id=5413827
Basically Dez Bryant claims now that he didn't carry the shoulder pads because he didn't know it was tradition. I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit on this. Really? In all your years of football you've never been subject to or witnessed such hazing? I pause to even call it that when it's carrying pads.
Bryant then attempts to blame all these issues on the media having it out for him.
It's not even August before his rookie year and I can already tell this guy is going to have massive behavioral problems. Blaming everybody but yourself for your problems is never a good sign. I can't wait for his first bad game when he throws Romo under the bus at a news conference.
What? A Cowboys WR with issues?!?
Man, Michigan fall camp really needs to start; tired of these lame stories ESPN and MSM is pimping.
Didn't read it close enough last time. Dez is doing a complete 180 on his stance from the sunday interview. A damage control of sorts, must have not liked the stage 2 threat. Funny how he now claims ignorance of the ritual.
September can not get here soon enough.
who cares... this is such a non story that will be used to make 3rd hand conclusions about this guys' character from 10,000 ft.
whoops: i should say, has already been used
This is something of a non-story. The only thing I found worrisome about Bryant's actions (in this instance anyway) was that he didn't handle himself well when talking with the press, which is part of the job as an NFL player. The pad issue is nonsense.
its why he was suspended for his senior year, he panicked and lied to the NCAA wen in reality he did nothing wrong.
OMG CARRY THE PADS WTF BRYANT
I worry about the large number of routes he is going to have to run across the middle during camp.
Who is gonna beleive that he didn't know the hazing rituals. I knew there were rituals of hazing in the NFL and I'm not even a college player.
He should have just carried the pads and gotten it over with.
This is the kind of training camp story that gets generated when bad journalists have nothing else to write.
Roy Williams: "Ha ha, the pledge gets to carry my shoulder pads. RAWR look at my biceps"
Reporter: "So, Dez, I hear you're Roy's shoulderpad-carrying bitch"
Dez: "Ha ha. Funny. I'm nobody's bitch. I have so many routes in my head ---head hurts, focusing on that."

Rookie Receiver: "I'm nobody's bitch!"
Dez: "Hey, yo, that's not what I said at all. I didn't know there was tradition until you guys told me.

Someone should start another post entitled: Roy Williams doesn't know he'll be replaced by Dez Bryant.
Very against hazing of any kind.
Does carrying a veteran's shoulder pads really qualify as hazing?
