OT: ESPN Softball Day

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

So I caught the last half of Michigan's Taylor Jungman pitch against Team USA as the Futures Team lost 1-0. Now, the World Cup of Softball switches over to the Men's Slow Pitch Softball World Series. I'm serious. It exists. And there's not even beer allowed on the field. USA vs Canada. Uh... go America?

It also gets weirder. 11 players in the lineup.

I was watching the slow pitch men's game. I lauged when the announcer said "These aren't just old fat guys like the stereotype, they lift weights and train hard!".

of the canadian team is from windsor and coaches an "A" team based out of windsor... he takes it very serious to the point of no beers allowed between games at tourneys and for league play...

looking forward to the mens game all week... i've played against a couple of guys on the canadian team (3rd base and CF) and they are for real... it is not fun playing 1st base when one of these guys come up, the ball gets to you in a hurry...

Does that even make it legit mens softball?? Where is the busch light on the bench and guys cracking open in the middle of the inning?

What a horrible representation of mens beer league softball!
