OT: What is your secret favorite cheesy song?
So everyone, no matter how sophisticated their musical taste, has that one song that you may possibly be embarrassed to have your friends discover in your iPod. That artist that may not have not much critical respect that has a song that you just love every time you hear it. Current or past, everyone has one. In my case I have several, but I'll offer one to start: Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield. What's yours? The internet is offering you anonymity...
but none will top ....
She's So High by Tal Bachman
One of my other choices would be Rita Coolidge's You're So Vain.
I like Alanis Morisette's You Oughta Know, too, although I can't stand anything else she's ever done.
Carly Simon?
I had them confused.
this is one of my cheesy favorites, not the original version of it. You get the idea though.
It won't let me embed it but this shit is my jams.

Whenever it comes on I can't help but shake my moneymaker.
BTW, did anyone else have to sing this song in elementary school?
Well, yea. But, my video shows everyone dancing how I dance. So, there's that.
What no Furry Walls?
You know you loved it too!
remember the group aqua??? well i have a dance mix cd i made 10+ years ago that has 3 of there songs on it: barbie girl, doctor jones, and candyman... and those 3 songs got listened to over and over again by me when no one else was around...
It's been a while since I've heard this one.
I may have used barbie girl as karaoke material once or twice.
As a duet only of course.
Go Blue !!!!
Subjecting my family to all of the cheese embedded in this board as we eat our saturday cinnamon rolls. Did u want cheese with that roll?
They have good writing, excellent production and are catchy so they stick in your head. The problem with a lot of pop songs is they are just more of the same, lack creativity and sometimes can be almost a blatant rip off. I.e.
the thing is the person who "wrote" the music for the song. They could of changed the tempo and a few other things. Then marketing it to the other singers as new material. Artist's these days are under so much pressure to put out new material. That they sometimes do no catch it. This happened to a Beyonce song last year or so.
You are correct though, creatvity has gone by the wayside.
noone mentioned this yet? Still remember the first time I saw Mike Myers dance to this in Austin Powers...might have been the hardest I have ever laughed in my life...
I love this song.
A very drunk 16 year old steals the microphone from the house band at a joint called Mango Tango's. Cue to me..err..him in his Tommy Hilfiger boxers and nothing else singing this song...
Also this...
Blasting out of a rental car in LA out at the Rose Bowl. Tell me after 4 years of Michigan not being Michigan it didn't connect..."When we're winning, I'll be singing..I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never going to keep me down..." And it's a song about drinking. Classic.
This is still the soundtrack to me and my roommates' "get a shopping cart or two, it's goin' down" beer/liquor runs
Def Leppard
According to my daughter, most of what I listen to falls into this category, but this one takes the cake.
Every time I get RickRolled I have to watch the whole thing. I turn it up when it's on the radio. Then I don't sleep for a week because it's stuck in my head.
I'll even go further and give you my two favorite qoutes from said movie:
"Catches bullets with his teeth?! N*gga please!!
"You just get that sucker to the designated place at the designated time, and I will gladly designate his ass... for dismemberment!"
That is also one of my favorite cheesy movies of all time, and also the song "Treat Her Like A Lady" by the Temptations is on that soundtrack and that song is the shiznit!
What is The Last Dragon, Alex
But now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do
A total eclipxe of the heart
So it turns out, Livin' La Vida Loca is a really, really great treadmill song. So Ricky Martin occupies a spot on my iPod.
My bother-in-law is Ricky Martin's guitarist so I have to stick up for him
Freudian slip? ;)
I like Africa by Toto.
Broken Wings by Mr. Mister might be even cheesier though.

Africa by Straight No Chaser fwiw, for me
Are you me? I was going to post these exact songs.
