OT - Jeremiah Masoli can play anywhere without sitting out a year

Submitted by Timnotep on

Apparently he got his degree and so he can go to any FBS or FCS school in the country and play, so long as he enrolls in a grdaute program not offered at Oregon.

Was interested in Hawaii, but they decided it wouldn't be a good Idea, now it looks like he's headed to Mississippi State.

Good luck to him, his legal problems aren't going to help.

(Not sure if this was posted already, so sorry if it was)

O boy can you imagine him playing at MICH? I understand that would never happen because of his legal problems but hes a stud running the spread.

Mississippi State is the only SEC team i dont hate  (edit: vandy too) because i had a cuz walk on their roster when i was little ...

unfortuantly they arent very competitive with the big boys but i would love to see them beat bama and ole miss

Miss. State - Big shocker there.  the only other BCS school that I would expect (more than Miss. St) to take an exciled troubled 3-strikes-your-out transfer would be Kansas St.

Good luck to all involved.  Miss. State is a long, long, long away from being a respected program because - in part - of decisions like this.

Would he be a good fit there?  I guess I don't know much about that other MSU, but I thought they ran a pro-style offense.

I suppose if you have the opportunity to get a talented player like this, and you're as pathetic as MSU has been, you take what you can get, even if the kid seems to have rocks for brains when it comes to decision-making off the field.

I don't like the overused "SEC is by far the best" meme, and I don't like Nick Saban, so seeing Alabama get embarrassed by a mediocre SEC team would be nice. It's kind of a lose-lose situation though, as the MSM would just praise the SEC's parity and depth (which is a total joke, by the way). Maybe I just want the schadenfreude that is sure to result from such a game.

Masoli is one hell of a quarterback.  I'm happy that he graduated, and that he has another opportunity to play college football.  I wish him nothing but the absolute best and hope this is the beginning of steps taken toward getting his life back on track.

EDIT: Damn you OP for editing your post so that my witty response was no longer witty.  Lucky for you I don't have the wittiness of a grdaute student, otherwise I'd think of something else to make fun of you for...

I figured the rights to division 1 were bought out be Capital One, and some idiot at capital one thought he'd just change it to div [shift + 1] and no one caught the mistake...

Ok, now I'm trying to hard

For someone so quick to point out the errors of others you should realize that it is "graduate" and not "grdaute".  That's actually 2 typing errors in one word -- no "a" and "au".

It's like watching someone with their zipper down laughing at a friend who has mayo on the corner of their mouth.   If that is in fact Mayo?!?!?!

And larsonlo, take my "critique" with a grain of salt... I probably hold the MGoRecord for most gramatical and spelling errors.

I'll take your grain of salt however, I need some for my peas anyway.  As for you, I suggest carefully reading the OP.  Now I'm off to eat my vegies.

One of the comments under the article:

  1. He can go to Michigan - the university has already proven they will and have sold their soul to the devil to win and DickRod is desperate, not to mention Masoli has a taste of losing to the Buckeyes... sounds like a perfect fit to me

That is my rule any general fan site.  The sheer number of idiots who post to these places truly make me worry about the future of human civilization.  I mean, these people are procreating at a stupendous rate!

I thought the concept of not having to sit out a year if you transfer schools to go to grad school, had been closed if IIRC after Urban Meyer got some DBs from Utah to transfer to Florida when he moved there in 2005.

I of course remember Greg Paulus playing for Syracuse last year, so perhaps the NCAA didn't close up that loophole.

I'm all for Masoli going to the SEC and perhaps making it so Miss St. beats one of the big boys (Florida, Alabama) and knocks them down a peg in the polls.  This can only be a good thing for the Big Ten.

He already lost to Ohio State, so he'd fit right in! In all seriousness, if Denard learns to throw the ball he's going to be more of a threat than Masoli would turn out to be. You don't need someone like Masoli being around your team with his background and legal troubles.

why do ND, OSU, & MSU fans feel the need to post on this blog? I'm not one of those "RAMBLE RAMBLE NO OUTSIDERS ALLOWED RAMBLE" kind of guys & I understand that some posters like Irish actually contribute somtimes but seriously, what's the point? I can't imagine spending time on a rival team's blog, especially as much time as some non-M fans do on here.

I know I'm breathing a sigh of relief that we weren't the ones who ended up signing him... I really don't think anyone seriously wants him to come to Michigan. Still it'll be nice to see him tear up SEC teams... although that isn't al that likely as his surrounding cast will be lack luster at best.
