TomVH: Jake Fisher Ready to Announce

Submitted by TomVH on

Instate OL Jake Fisher is ready to announce his decision. He'll be holding a press conference within the next few days, but he wasn't sure the exact date.

I cannot read this kids name without wanting to join the British Royal Navy. Welcome aboard (I hope) Admiral Fisher.

Now if we can just add the Duke of Wellington...

FWIW rivals quoted him as saying he was impressed by the coaching staff at MSU but was impressed with everything at Michigan. Maybe he tipped us off maybe not.

In the last six years, St. Mark's head coaching records...

2004 - Cincinnati 7 - 5

2005 - Cincinnati 4 - 7

2006 - Cincinnati 7 - 5

2007 - Little Brother 7 - 6

2008 - Little Brother 9 - 4

2009 - Little Brother 6 - 7

40 - 34...and this guy is worshipped by the MSM?

Do the right thing Jake Fisher! Go Blue.

Because that was their only chance at landing him. It's been obvious for a while that UM was out in front and any decision made in the near future would be for Michigan. MSU's goal during this last visit was to try and convince him to delay and take things into the fall. Didn't work, apparently.

I'm not sure where you go that from - they would absolutely accept his verbal, but like Zettel, their only chance of getting that verbal was to convince him not to commit to Michigan now and drag the process out. That pitch has worked with Zettel; didn't work with Fisher.

From the scuttlebut, I think he has spent a lot of time talking with and visiting Michigan. He has been leaning toward committing to Michigan but was going to stop by MSU on his way to the next visit in Ann Arbor and confirm that's what he wants to do. Michigan State wasn't expected to be close to getting a commit on that trip: a win for them would have been Fisher deciding to delay his decision pending how successful Michigan looks early in the year (then hope Michigan doesn't look strong). A quick decision thus seems to favor Michigan in this one.

Tom,

Where do you think he will end up?  I am pretty confident he will come our way, but Sparty may not be trashing our program, but they can direct recruits to people that will.

I need some commitments! I'm going through withdrawals.  What are the chances of us landing all 3 of the Fisher, Walsh, and Hobbi combo that visited? I like all three.  It seems though as Fisher is the lesser of the three.

Also, since Dee Hart is visiting, could he be on commitment watch as well?

I want the players that want us. Train them up, coach them up and let them loose on MSU. The kids that really want us, will always have that extra motivation to be the victors and the best.

How awesome would it be if he had a Michigan Cap and a MSU ski mask on the table in front of him at the announcement?  He'd be an instant fan favorite (assuming he goes blue).
