Winged Helmet baseball cap

Submitted by Blue Blue Blue on

Years ago, I had a baseball cap with the winged helmet design on it.  the coolest baseball cap of all time.

For all the merchanidise  we sell, I have not been able to find this hat in an adjustable size.....I have a big head and like my hat loose, so elastic back fitted caps are not comfortable.

can one of my Blue Brothers post a link to a site selling (adjustable) winged helmet design baseball caps?

Maybe when the new-old contracts are in place and when the new Adidas stuff comes out. I could only find this- http://www.moesportshops.com/products/view/826/2042 And it doesn't say whether it's adjustable or not. And I'm not a big fan of the yellow bill. Looks a bit too duck-like. I have this cheap fabric and sponge one that I wear to home games that has lasted like 20 years. And just as I started to worry I might have to replace it someday, I found an identical unworn one with the tag still on it at Salvation Army. M-Den doesn't have it on their website, but I too remember seeing them on the shelves fairly recently, though fitted or not, I couldn't say.

Can't believe you found an unused one!  I found one of those in my family's basement.  Clearly old, a bit beat up.  Didn't remember ever seeing one in action, and none of my sibs claimed it, so I gave it to a NY friend as part of indoctrinating him into the maize & blue.  Guess it worked.  His godson ended up going to Michigan, loved it, and the friend even got to go with him to a game in A2 on parents' weekend instead of the Mom.

Right shape of wings, comfy in hot or cool.  The sponge does eventually start falling out in orange clumps, but I long ago pulled/scrapped it out, so it's just the soft fabric.  Breaths in September for cool, and allows you to fit a skully under it in the winter.

And yes, it was unbelievable.  I was killing time, walking around as my wife checked out the Salvation Army sale, and saw some Michigan stuff...and...pristine.

I'll have to look for your hat in the stands when watching on TV.  Can't be too many of them.

Could never understand why there weren't winged caps available (in the modern era).  Seems like it would be a best seller.  Wondered if there were some trademark issue.  Hope M-Den brings them back.  [The yellow-bill linked is apparently "on back order."]

EDIT:  Checked link again and now it says it's in stock.

But back in school, I friends gave me a hard time about it, because it is...loud.  But I told them I wear it for the same reason...to be seen downfield.  And damned if at the next game, they couldn't see me coming a mile away in the stands with all those people.  Crisler knew what he was doing.
