MGoBlog Mobile Browsing

Submitted by Kal on

So I find myself bored a lot of the time, and I'm probably not the only one that likes to browse mgoblog while waiting for a checkup at the dentist or dropping a deuce. I guess I was curious of what the feasibility of someone making an Android/Iphone App or a mobile version of the site that makes it quicker and easier to feed my addiction wherever I go. I'd be willing to fork over 2.99 for that in a heartbeat.

mgoblog works delightfully well on my phone.  though I do have a superphone (HTC EVO FTW!).  but still, i stay logged in across browsing sessions, i can upvote/downvote with ease, the mgoboard navigation is a snap (page doesn't reload each time), and entering comments is a breeze.

honestly, i hope mgoblog doesn't come out with a dedicated mobile version - i love having full functionality, and the watered down espn and facebook mobile sites just piss me off.  maybe an app that pulls mgoblog content and whatnot, but when i type in mgoblog.com into my phone's browser, i love seeing this site in all its glory and splendor.

I don't think this needs it's own thread. Everyone already knows that a mobile site is desired and there is an entire thread on things you would like to see added to MGo two posts down.

Not right now because elaydin is an iPhone guy but getting the iPhone app up will have us operational with an API that can be used by anyone, so if there's an android guy out there interested in rev share for an app that will happen. Email me if so.

iPhone's Opera browser works really well with this site.  The only knock would probably be that I sometimes need to manually enter a subject, then type in the plain text editor mode.

Lately I've just been using the Google app instead of the BB browser or Opera Mini, it works fine for me. Opera Mini is really nice, you get the whole webpage instead of a stripped down version which you can then scroll and zoom in to any part of the screen you want to. It's pretty fast, and I'm running the newest beta version (could be cause of crash?) so...

Yeah, that Droid is awesome, whip that thing out at Goodtime Charlie's and it's a guaranteed SCORE, baby!

On a college campus, it's all about the iPhone.  Once Verizon gets it in January, Brian can jack the price of the app from 0.99 to 99.99.  The business types can afford it.
