This video fires me up

Submitted by TIMBLUE on

Although last year didn't turn out the way we planned, the Notre Dame game in my mind was a classic. I watched the video of the final drive in that game and thought there was something about it that gives me hope. Its something about the flow of the drive and the effort that helps me to believe that we are a lot closer to where we want to be then many believe.  I know its one drive in one game but i cant help but get fired up.

....and I only say that because after game 4, the wheels fell off this team. This team doesn't need fireworks, it needs to be consistent and play smart cohesive football. Hopefully we will see that this year.

When I made that video, I was actually kind of afraid that I'd get sick of the song or the highlights after working on it for a while. But no. Not even close -- I still get goosebumps every time.

Big Ups to you.  No disrespect for the 2009 version which I enjoyed, but I loved the one you made and thought it was an improvement.  I also appreciate no (or few if I missed them) Delaware St. highlights.

Nice work.

Thanks for the kind words. I couldn't bring myself to include the Delaware State highlights -- as much I enjoyed watching a 63-point win, it didn't seem like a real game that would help get me pumped for 2010.

Holy crap that was a good day. I really thought we were looking at eight or nine wins and had already cleared the biggest hurdle.

Timblue,  I agree that we are alot closer to where we want to be than people realize. However to me it is not the Notre Dame game that showed it, rather, the Iowa game.  At the time they were quite highly ranked nationally, and the game in Iowa, and we took it to the end, barely losing with two true freshmen qbs.  Iowa's team was good enough that they had six guys get drafted in the NFL.. they had FOUR guys go within the first three rounds...thats impressive.  So to me, the Iowa game was more the telltale sign... check this out...

1st round Bulaga

2nd round Angerer

3rd round Spievey, and Maeoki

4th round  Edds

I watched this game at a bar with a friend of mine and his dad who are both huge ND fans.  After every big ND play my friend's dad would put his cell phone up to my ear so I could hear his Victory March ringtone.  When Matthews caught the touchdown I turned around to sing The Victors but my friend's old man had already left the bar!!!  Hands down the best moment of 2009
