days until you will be popping a cold one or two or three in preparation for the moment when Will Campbell and the boys follow Brock Mealer into Michigan Stadium.

The Huskies won't know what hit them.

But you will be ready, because you are a member of the MGoBlogerati.

how many people are sleeping on Thor this year. Rittenberg will come to regret shutting us out of his top 25. I don't know which will be more sweet, seeing Denard, Thor and MM pwn fools in the B10 or seeing Adam eat some crow.

starting to rev in your head? It starts quietly and intermittently, like it's trying to turn over cold with a bad battery.

"ki-ki-kil-ki-ki... Ki-Kil-Kil-kill-kill-kill-Kill-Kill-Kill"

I thirst for Saturday afternoon violence.

I don't know if this is sad or not, but I get married on Aug 21st and I'm more excited for the football season to start than my own wedding to get here. My Fiance keeps saying "only ____ days until our wedding" and then I say, "only two weeks after that until Michigan football"; To which she hits me on the arm.

Truth: The wedding is her day. You'll have a blast, but it's not really the day you're looking forward to. It's the life afterwards. Truth be told, most women want to have a wedding more than they want to be married.

Conversely, most men want to watch football more than they want a wedding.

Truth be told, most women want to have a wedding more than they want to be married.

I don't know if that's literally true. However, considering the planning, expense and stress that goes into a ceremony that's over in under an hour in most cases, and a few hours for the party afterward, it certainly seems that way sometimes.

Other the other hand, I'm perfectly willing to concede that most men want to watch football.

One of my really good friends, a diehard Michigan fan/alum, just got engaged to a chick that doesn't really "understand" the whole fandom thing.  His new idea that she doesn't (yet) know about/approve of but will have to?  My friend wants each table to be associated with a Michigan football player--ie, Table 1: The Braylon Edwards Table; Table 2: The Charles Woodson table.  I told him that's pretty much the best wedding idea ever.

What are the Honeymoon plans? We did a cruise to Key West, Grand Cayman and the like. Got a room with a private balcony. I highly recommend it.

That said... if anyone gets the second back from the bow, 5th deck, port side sky suite on the Celebrity Century, you might want to wipe the deck chairs on the balcony off before sitting in them.

Unless you want my bare rear end against yours.

I did the same thing with the birth of my daughter. She was due September 3rd and I kept talking about the season starting in early September. My wife was PIIIIIIIISSSSSSED. (Good thing she bleeds maize and blue too, otherwise it might have spelled disaster).

We almost named her Mabel Wolverine.

Decided on Mabel Love.

What your next 72 posts will be. Though we don't have a #1. (Hmm...how many days would we have to dig into the past to fill...?)

Did anyone else see the Rivals article yesterday talking about the D-line and LBs?  The author claims that Big Will is not progressing at the rate fans expect him to.  That made me a sad panda.  They did, however, praise Greg Banks and Mike Jones.

Bring on the Huskies...

So they claim that fans don't think he's progressing quickly enough? Who the hell cares what the fans' opinions of his progress are? I'm much more interested in what the coaches think.

It reminds me of a great scene from Die Hard:

Dwayne T. Robinson: I've got a hundred people down here, and they're covered with glass.
John McClane: Glass? Who gives a shit about glass?

  • The smell of grilled brats on front lawns walking up toward the stadium
  • The taste of one last beer before crossing through the wrought iron gates
  • The feel of the warm September sun on your face as you take your seat in an ocean of maize and blue
  • The sound of the Victors fanfare as the MBM takes the field, assuring you that it's finally here
  • And then, the sight of an army of winged helmets, pouring out of the tunnel with a perfect, untarnished clean slate of a record.

Another year, another reason to be alive.
To dream, to hope, to believe.  GO BLUE!!!

..watching the '69 game vs. OSU on B10 network last night was heaven.

I noticed on OSU's last play, the fumble was recovered by #55 and I couldn't help think of Brandon Graham.

Tradition indeed.
