That isn't settled yet. Germany and Ghana play today at 2:30.
I'm just going under the assumption that Germany will win or tie. Just pointing out the fact that we have the top seed...
Appreciate the sentiment, but I think he's trying to point out that nothing should be assumed. Who though Germany would get a bogus red and lose to Serbia after their amazing first game? That's why we play the game.
A tie doesn't mean Germany wins the group, could easily come in second depending on the other games outcome.
Well, I guess I've been pretty much exposed in this thread. Win some, lose some...
A Tie guarntees that Germany doesn't win the group, as Ghana is ahead of them going into the match, so they would still be ahead. They still could advance with a tie, but at best they'd be second which means we would have to play them. Ugh.
Wut?
Great thread.
But would you read it again?
I'd like to say good luck to UofM in the Rose Bowl against Oregon State!!! Gonna be a great game!...Oh wait you gotta play the season first?
Let's all be sarcastic assholes because the OP thought it was funny that England, one of the pre-tournament favorites, will end up facing Germany when that actually might not be the case..
Although it was a little premature, I agree with the OP's sentiment. The Brits display open disdain for US soccer. I also find it very enjoyable that England may now end up facing a very formidable Germany.
Yeah... they are acting a bit like bitter WVU fans after we stole their boyfriends. Maybe if I allegedly steal all their paperwork and spur a retroactive NCAA investigation on this site, I can get a writeup in the Freep. I guess I deserved it though, it'll teach me to not look at the tables before I make a sarcastic post to start a topic...
for the fall out you receive for this comment........
A guy can't make a harmless joke anymore? Had nothing to do with the fact that England hates US soccer. Theres a chance Michigan plays Oregon State in the Rose bowl this January, but we need to play the season still to make sure.
Someone needs to just relax a little.
The Daily Show did a hilarious bit on the Brits' disdain for US soccer (couldn't figure out how to embed this one).
I also loved the follow up after the draw.
Posting a thread worth reading.
I can't edit seeing as someone posted a reply to my post, but I also found it funny that in that video it showed John Oliver going to the USA-Czech Republic game, which the US lost 4-2 (they didn't mention that in the video, they just showed a goal by the US), and using it as evidence that the US would be a formidable foe.
You heard it here first folks... now is it okay that I posted this. Apparently, you all didn't know that I am a prophet...
