Recruitin' for 20!

Submitted by Buzz Your Girlfriend on

Hypothetically we bring in 20 guys into this class. Here is your chance to jot down your 20, in regards to:

a) Current recruits

b) wants/needs

c) feasibility to land the recruit

My top 20:

QB - Sousa (However, I am part of the "don't take a QB in this class" club)

RB - Dee Hart

WR - Shawn Conway

WR - AJ Jordan

TE - Ray Hamilton

OL - Zettel

OL - Jake Miller

OL - Andre Y

OL - Posada

OL - Jack Miller

DT - Jernigan (I just have this weird feeling that he will be a surprise commit on NSD)

DT - Corey Marshall

DL - Chris Rock

DL - Beyer

LB - Kellen Jones (I'm this guy's biggest fan)

LB - Sean Duggan

LB - Kris Frost

DB - Delonte Hollowell

DB - Greg Brown

DB - Showers/Avery Walls/Dondi Kirby (I wish we could take all 3, but I think we only get one and the first to commit will deter the others)

Good luck!

Waaaay toooo early. Especially if you consider that many recruits are going to wait to see how this season plays out before committing, pushing decisions perhaps later than usual for much of the class. My guess us that recruits are going to wait to see what the outlook is for some stability at Michigan.

Yes, there are changes that will happen between now and NSD.  Some of these guys will drop M (Corey Marshall already did) and there will be guys none of us know much about that will be firmly on our radar 6 months from now.  But that doesn't mean we can't speculate.

Personally, I like the list.  I would take off Marshall (replace him maybe with Darian Cooper), add another DE, and take maybe one less LB (since Beyer is technically an LB) or no QB.

Speculate away, I just think that recruits are likely weighing coaching variability more heavily this season (whether it is actually variable or not). Which I think will make us lose some recruits, and will also make others wait until after the season, potentially after which other recruits (perhaps ones ranked lower) will have taken those spots, etc. Or RR will win big early and continue to win, and the process will go swimmingly.

In other words, I think that the process is much more contingent than usual, which means speculation is much more tenuous than it usually is. But perhaps that just makes the speculation more fun.

Okay, I just read the list for the first time...

1. Why did you include Kevin Sousa if a) he doesn't have an offer and b) you don't want him?

2. Who is Jake Miller?  Is he Jack Miller's brother?  Because you have both listed.

1. Then his criteria are kind of silly.  He's not a current offeree, and the OP doesn't want him and doesn't think we need him.  The only thing that fits is perhaps the feasibility of getting his commitment, which is up in the air since he hasn't been offered.

I took this as more of a prediction than a wish list.  At this point, it's not too out there to think "It seems as though RR really wants a QB in this class, and since a lot of our top targets are looking elsewhere, RR will likely offer Sousa, at which point he will commit since he's shown favor toward M in the past."

Maybe it doesn't happen that way, but it's looking as likely as any other scenario right now.

Thats not what he asked. He asked who you guys would recruit and who is your favorites at every position. I have not payed enough to recruiting as a whole to provide my favorite for every position, but i like Valdez Showers and Kevin Sousa.

I feel like Sammy Watkins should join that list, possibly in place of Jordan due to the lack of reciever spots
