Jake Fisher from TC has a Michigan Offer

Submitted by CincyBlue on

He was one of the best players on the field at Michigan's camp yesterday and now has a Michigan offer.

He is a 6'7 OT that is currently playing Tight End.  Needs to put on weight and would be a lock for a redshirt, IMO.

... that 2 of the 3 top state prospects are wanting to come here, showers looks like he will be in ann arbor soon, and its a shame that MSU can only recruit state prospects by bashing us in their recruiting pitches.

Yikes. Sign the man up!

Too bad we don't need TEs or else he'd be perfect for that. Big strong blocker, but also a super tall reciever when necessary.

Scout said he reminded them of Lewan (build and frame wise) at the same age and of Jake Long when he was 16.

We are recruiting him as an OT.  He just needs to add weight.  The good news is that he doesn't need to lose any weight to add the right kind of weight.

I've read he has quick feet which is great for OT but I don't think he is fast enough for TE at the next level.

I do think we take a TE in this class though whether it be Ray Hamilton or someone like Ben McCord who apparently had a good camp.  Maybe it depends on how big Jeremy Jackson gets.

Remove his two front teeth and Braylon Edwards would be the spitting image of Richie Havens. This point is connected to the OP because when I clicked on the Rivals link I saw Braylon's picture.

Just about every OL recruit is a lock to redshirt, so saying that about Fisher isn't a big deal, although he may be in need of one more than others.  The nice thing is that with Lewan and Schofield, he probably won't be asked to start too soon.

If he's 6'7" and 250 as a junior, he'll be about as big as Lewan is this fall (around 280), or close,  after his redshirt season.

Either way, great news!  Anyone have any idea what his feelings are on coming here?

This recruiting class for offensive lineman is looking very good.  Some of these recruits are massive and makes me hopeful that we can have an o-line similar to Wisconsin in a few years.

Jacob Fisher is close to choosing where he will attend school in college. Apparently Michigan has been very high on his list of recent pass, but I am not going to assume anything because apparently anything a Michigan fan can assume will blow up in your face. I hope we get this kid if he is really an athlete at TE in the mold of Lewan, Long, Etc. Go Blue!
