I guess EA Sports loves the Blackhawks....I know he won the Conn Smythe and is a great player no doubt...but why not mix it up a little bit?  Say Steven Stamkos or another young player on a different team not named Chicago....Pat Kane and Toews back -to-back seems like overkill....

All I care about is whether they end up putting college teams in. I heard they were thinking about it after they decided to add OHL teams, and I will definitely buy this game at some point if I can play as Michigan (And especially if I can use them to beat the crap out of the Blackhawks and the Penguins).

and you didn't see any Wings players on it. A Nick Lidstrom cover would of been bad ass but oh well. I'm not suprised though to see Towes made the front cover the man has some serious hardware now. An olympic gold medal, Conn Smythe and Stanley Cup! This guy has it all at the moment why not put him on. Although I aree with Mr. Robot I would love to see NCAA teams on there.

I know hockey isn't the most popular sport in America but with viewership up and the amazing college hockey games that I saw this past season you would think that somewhere down the line that maybe they will. I would love to play a Michigan vs Michigan State match up at Yost! Holy shit that would be mind blowing! Even better how about some stadium games too! Like they did the Battle for the Cup game 7 in the NHL 10 demo they should do stadium games like the Cold War and the Upcoming Big Chill at the Big House. I would definitely buy it!

at least it is not Malkin or Hossa on the cover...

look at the list of cover athletes...Stevie Y is the only wing. Wow...Dats, Z, or Lids has to make it someday.

I got really nostalgic looking at that list. NHL '95 and '98 are classics, IMO. I wanna say '98 was the first one that had 3D game play. '95 I just love because it was the one that got me hooked. I could have bought the damn game 3 times over with the amount of money I spent renting it over and over again from Mammoth Video (my eventual minimum wage alma mater).

While Stamkos had an outstanding year, it seems like EA was going to choose the player that had the most obvious recognition and media blitz at the end of the season.  Had the Hawks lost, I'm guessing Miller would have gotten the nod.  While Miller still is a great goalie, I don't think picking him over Toews would have been appropriate, given their relative successes this year.
