The only way I would ever want to see UVA in the Big Ten is if the ACC up and completely dissolves.  I think UVA athletics would be ruined.  Forget being a football school or a basketball school or even a baseball school - the best we could hope for is being a lacrosse school.

I've been taking to calling the conference "The Big X" for now, where X = the number of teams in the conference when the dust finally settles (and doubles as the roman numeral for 10).

Of course, if we stop at 12 teams and the Big XII is still alive, well...I guess we'd better just kill the Big XII. Never should have let anyone else call themselves "Big" anyway.

The Big Ten commissioned me to come up with a new logo, and gave me some specifics of what needs to go in there. Here's what I've come up with so far:

As a Kansas grad, and someone who lived in Kansas during Nebraska's heyday during the '90s, I can tell you this:  Nebraska fans are like Iowa fans, only really obnoxious and arrogant...If expansion has to happen, I'm glad to have Nebraska, but I already dislike them intensely.

They need to get rid of the numbers in conference names in order to promote mega-alliance-reshuffling-conspiracy-theories and associated names and logo's.

They should probably go with the "Great Lakes Conference", but the marketing yahoos would probably come up with something like "the Quizno's Power Smash Bash College Football Conference, sponsored by Samsung" (though I do like the ring of QPSBCFC).

Say what you will but they wear red and they can fill stadiums.  Did you see when they went to Notre Dame?  They looked like they outnumbered ND fans at that game.  I think a lot of it is an optical illusion but Ohio State looked like they were around 50% of the attendance this year at the Big House.  Red stands out.
