Sparty? Are you kidding me? Sparty? Remember when I pioneered that totally sweet comeback led valiantly by everyone's favorite twink, Brady Quinn? I'm so awesome. I coached Tom Brady.

Wow is that what they talk about all the time? I love being a Michigan fan and having three or four teams as your rival. Charlie at first I thought you were eating the hamburger, but after further review I can now tell that you have perfected your form of eating and are able to just use your mouth as a vacum and inhale anything with 600 calories within seconds. If only you had spent a little more time perfecting your coaching......

is their use of "UM slappies." I hate that term, why not just say "homers" or "honks?" I think they learned slappy from their fearless leader Mike "Barry Sanders was overrated" Valenti.

The RCMB is the single most bitter place on the entire Webs. I would get a lot of schadenfreude out of watching them spew their bitter bitter hatred, because I know it's basically rooted in them losing all the time, but I just can't stand that place. Go find the thread announcing the passing of Bo and you'll lose every last shred of respect you might have had for Sparty.

"Slappie" implies masturbation and the RCMB is contractually obligated to speak Frat Brah at all times, brah.

Yeah but do frat brahs even know what masturbation is - I mean when get as much trim as they do, who needs it?

About a year ago, I got mentioned in an RCMB thread. Some guy posted about a recent meth lab bust, and someone else posted a picture of me at the stadium with the UM Army guy and snarkily asked if we were two of the perpetrators; before long, someone else decided that I looked like the lead singer of the Spin Doctors. A good time was had by all, and I got a good laugh out of it.

Please tell me that to an outsider we do not sound like that on this board. I like to think there is a bit more sense and reason on Michigan boards, but I am looking at it from our side.

Sad to say but this board like most other pro Michigan boards resemble what is going on over there.  Not that it is bad because after all it is a message board.  No on should expect straight forward, unbiased opinions on boards like this.

I'm not sure who John Springer is but he's now my hero. I haven't laughed this hard in a LONG time.

Optimistic Pessimist: And I ask again. Why are you here?

Gimme an O.
Gimme a B.
Gimme another B
Gimme an S.
Gimme an E
Gimme an S.
Gimme another S.
Gimme an I.
Gimme an O
Gimme an N.

What's that spell?

JohnSpringer: I'm not really sure what obbsession spells.

I was going to put up a pic of my "Michigan State: Easier to beat than Appalachian State" t-shirt, but I missed the opportunity. I'm sure another will present itself shortly. they're just too much fun to mess with, plus I have friends and family who are Sparties, so educating myself about MSU football tends to be in my best interest.

I try to do no advertising here as I think it's disrespectful to Brian and all the work he does, and don't want to take anything away from MGoStore, but I made that page for a few friends who wanted them. I'll tell you what though- wearing that shirt out in East Lansing is a riot.

Once you've established yourself as an upstanding member of the community, plugs within reason are absolutely fine. The general rule: if you think "I don't want to spam MGoBlog," you're probably entitled to a post or two announcing something or other.

Second general rule: put yourself in the place of a blog reader. Would your post be a net benefit? Yvgeni just started up his site again and is posting M wallpapers; he emailed to ask if it was okay to publicize it. The answer: hell yes. Just don't do it to excess.

Sca1zi, check out the "Rich Rod in 4 years" thread. I started out trying to be civil as I have a lot of friends/family who are Sparty fans, but once they get completely irrational I just said Eff it- and went full bore on the Lil Bro complex. shut it right down. They did prove to be amusing while playing poker all weekend though.

What if you grew up in the state of michigan as a MSU fan and a Detroit Lion fan? How could you enjoy our new national pastime? Poor, poor staties. Its a stupid place for stupid people...
