LaMarre goes 62nd Overall

Ryan LaMarre was drafted by the Reds with the 69th overall pick.   The Reds are an interesting destination, since Barry Larkin, Chris Sabo, and Hal Morris all thrived there.

...were also drafted according to the Daily.

Hours after teammate Ryan LaMarre was selected by the Reds in the second round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft, junior right-handed pitcher Matt Miller was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the fifth round with the 159th overall pick.

>>>

Senior right-hander and starting pitcher Alan Oaks was then chosen in the eighth round by the Florida Marlins, 257th overall.

>>>

Fellow pitcher, junior right-hander Tyler Burgoon, was taken two rounds after Oaks, as the Seattle Mariners picked him with the 312th overall pick in the 10th round.

>>>

The last Wolverine selected on the day was senior catcher Chris Berset, who went in the 20th round, 607th overall, to the Cincinnati Reds, joining former teammate Ryan LaMarre, who was picked by the Reds in the 2nd round earlier Tuesday.

The five players already drafted is the most for Michigan since 2008, when five Wolverines were chosen also. With ten more rounds Tuesday and the final 20 scheduled for Wednesday, the team has a shot to match the program record of seven draftees, which occurred in 1988, 1991, and 2005.
