The Knights Intro at the beginning of the game was so extra. Pure Vegas.
just a totally campy, fun atmosphere
Drop the puck already
Vegas overkill in high gear for that pregame.
With either team winning. Would just like a nice 7 game, nail biting, tight, series.
should have taken the over. could be a fun series.
Pro tip: If you have CBC, go there for better commentating.
One of the hidden benefits about moving back to SE Michigan, is now getting CBC coverage for the playoffs
Yes indeed, and better, or at least different commercials. Can’t tolerate any more Chevy ads.
Are there any Michigan players on the teams?
But there are two former Red Wings (Nosek & Tatar) playing for Vegas
Vegas coached by a former Red Wing.
Is on Vegas
Hasn't played since their May 2 game against the Sharks though
Former Wolverine Kelly McCrimmon is their Assistant General Manager. McCrimmon was captain of the 1983-84 Michigan team, and has spent most of the intervening time as Head Coach & GM of the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, and has been the franchise owner since 2000.
...so it's already more watchable than the last 2 years.
I have a strange feeling the unimaginable ride of the Golden Nights is taking them all the way.
Stanley Cup and NBA WCF game 7. The Bachelorette is going to have to wait until tomorrow night .
thank God for DVR, amirite?
Nope. Don’t need it. Fluff.
I love hockey more than any sport, but right now I'm watching Houston-Golden State, which is off to a rollicking start!
...Washington didn't get these bounces against Pitt the last few years, I'd rather Ovi had the back to back cups.
Place your monies on GS and Washington.
You're welcome.
Thank you! I’ll get many Fudge Rounds. Maybe some Ice.
The Warriors are not very good.
Lol.
Yeah about that....
Here's a comment from the Rockets, "GAAACKK!!!"
I love the sound of Doc Emrick calling the Stanley Cup Final on TV. Surprised at how high scoring the game is, looking forward to the rest of it.
Doc makes my ears bleed. He is obsessed with how clever he is. Just call the game and cut out all the non-descriptive verbs. He also gets super excited over nothing plays and will randomly ignore important or big plays.
...CAPITOLize on your good luck when in Vegas.
That goal should not have counted
He speared Oshie way after the whistle in front of Fleury.
Found the Caps fan
While I wish the refs hadn't missed the blatant calls, blind-siding a guy way after he plays the puck is a potential career ending play and does not compare to spearing.
Was more than deserved, a spear to a mans lower back as he is tied up with another player and bent over is also a very serious injury waiting to happen. I don’t think a blindsided blast was warranted but he definitely had something coming his way.
And no I’m not a Caps fan, if you read the comments I very clearly said I don’t care who wins just want a good series.
Steph Curry is just going OFF right now. Holy fuck.
He made 4 shots in a row. The earth is still round.
Yawn.
The lack of penalty there was a make up for the missed cross-check. But I'd rather have a power play for that makeup, and give Wilson the penalty.
like they hired Dave Brandon to run things.
Amazing game so far. Wilson is a dirty twat.
Well, that sucks. Caps need to get that back!
A Vegas win in the SCF final would reduce the Stanley Cup to the level of a participation trophy and prove once and for all that pro sports are fixed, scripted garbage on the level of sports entertainment like WWE.
That's carrying it a bit far. It's not fixed, but I have no idea how an expansion club can get so good in year 1. Doesn't make any sense.
but mostly it was a master class in roster construction, aided by guys like Karlsson suddenly figuring everything out. However, Fleury's miraculous career resurgence is both the most unexpected aspect of their year as well as the reason they are where they are.
Some of it is luck too. Karlsson shot 23% this season, which is just insane and (most likely) isn't sustainable.
For reference, guys like Malkin, Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid, Kane have never had a season where they shot over 20%. Even Gretzky "only" had 6 seasons with a shooting % higher than 20%.
Four downvotes....shows the level of brainwashing the typical US American has achieved.
....who thinks the league orchestrated Vegas in the Finals.
Why? So that people question the competitiveness of their sport?
Why? So that fans of teams like Washington and Tampa lose interest in hockey?
Golden Nights were going to be a strong franchise financially for the next 5 years even if they never made it to the playoffs, which gives the league zero incentive to help them succeed in the first year.
Your take is lame and wrong.
