Two years of eligibility?? Feels like he's going to be a 7th year senior in 2019.
Guess he's destined for MSU.
He’s the Robbie Hummel of B1G football
I feel the same way. Hell, I thought he was long graduated and working for rent a car at this point
Two more years of eligibility is likely, but not assured.
He was really good in that one spring game
That One Time—At Band Camp!
underrated comment here
Raback It.
How in God's name does that guy have 2 years left? He played here under Hoke 4 years ago! Is he going for his doctorate now?!
But his footwork is AMAZING. Didn't you see that one recruiting video of his cone drill? Best spring camp of all time.
I know you are a coach, so help a guy out here, what possible good does that drill do? I’m asking sincerely because I’m ignorant, but that looks to my untrained eye like a complete waste of time. Enlighten me, please.
How to take quick small steps to change direction without tripping over yourself
It's about muscle memory. You always want to over-emphasize fundamental things in practice, because they won't happen that way in games. Practice footwork and steps like that, and they'll be a little longer - but still quick - in games. Linebackers and defensive linemen practice staying low in the chutes, even though they'll end up being a couple inches higher in games because they don't have time to think about staying so low.
It's the same with any sport. You can't take BP with a guy throwing 99 MPH all the time, because you won't have time to hone your swing. You can't practice all your three-point shooting with a guy in your face and trying to block the shot, because you won't have time to focus on your shooting form.
Thanks for explaining.
Dancing from school to school... that footwork!
Give away degrees to these guys?
Like what possible fucking degree could he have gotten? Not saying it’s bullshit but damn it does take a minute to get a degree.
I should know, my freshman year in college was 1996 and I just graduated last week from UT. Thank god for that 97 year old WWII vet finally getting his degree or I might have been the oldest guy there, what a loser. Pfffffft
T-O-L
2014 WRs
Drake Harris, Freddy Canteen, Maurice Ways
I wonder why we had to start so many freshmen last season?
To be fair, Drake was supposed to be the next Braylon. Freddie was well regarded, but yeah Mo was a bit of a flier. Definitely needed more WR's overall.
Mo Ways was a take on his name alone. He contributed to the team, but I was always bummed he wasn't a breakout star. All-time All-Name team though.
Ways was supposedly headed for significantly more playing time until he broke his foot.
The 2016 WR class isn't showing good early returns either. Despite a good chunk of playing time as freshmen both Crawford and McDoom failed to show improvement as sophomores and look to be already passed by younger talent. Nate Johnson...already gone.
Our awesome 2017 WR haul was critical. Let's hope they develop.
WR takes time to pick up. Jehu Chesson and Darboh both seemed like just a guy types until late in their careers and both ended up getting drafted. There's still time for those two to find come into their own.
Crawford and McDoom just need to hang onto those passes and it'd be a different thought.
They've been in all the right spots but just can't convert.
I'd also like to add that Chesson was a blocking specialist at WR for 2 years before he became a demigod with Rudock.
in 2018, and have yet to get a commit from one in the 2019 class. In three years, the cupboard is going to be very bare again at that position.
Class of 2016 had five WRs and only two remain, Crawford and McDoom with neither contributing overly much in 2017. Just some really bad hauls of WRs, for one reason or another, classes 2013-2016 haven't given Michigan much production.
who ended up as part of that awesome 2017 WR class.
double post
I gotta find the post from years ago where I predicted Ways would be a bust after seeing him and his QB Tyler Wiegers play. I also said Wiegers wasn’t a quality D1 prospect or something to that effect and got flamed pretty hard. A quick google search turned up an interesting nugget about Wiegers transferring to Eastern Michigan that I must have missed at the time: http://www.thegazette.com/subject/sports/college/football/qb-wiegers-le…
I feel like bust isn't a term to be given to 3 star who really weren't expected to be All-B1G to begin with. I certainly never thought that was gonna happen with Canteen or Ways.
Drake Harris' offer list was impressive and he was good in high school but that injury his senior year doomed his career.
Any relation to the recepticle I keep my water in? Is this a dumb question?
You named your water receptacle Freddy? Do you have other water receptacles with other names?
...Oasis McWateringhole
RhTs the one
The agility ladder champ!
Freddy Footwork!!
WOTS he is transferring to a school where he can get his grad degree in ballroom dancing.
Good luck to him.
Didn't Freddy catch a touchdown pass in Hoke's last game at Ohio State in 2014?
3 yard pass from DG with a little over a minute left to make it "respectable"
one more than almost everybody.
Not sure what degree Freddy got from ND, but getting an undergraduate from Michigan, a masters (I pressume) from ND is pretty impressive. I hope Freddy goes to an Ivy League school for his next degree. He may not have gotten much time on the field, but Freddy is winning. Fancy footwork indeed!
