Notre Dame
1. Joe Milton. All the good news coming out of camp on Milton is getting me excited. He is pushing all the quarterbacks and putting them on notice. If he is that good, put him in the game, we need to win NOW.
2. Wariner. The offensive line will be better. It has to be better. This is going to be a book for our running backs, which will alleviates pressure on the QB. Running backs improving will benefit our wide receivers. This 2018 offense might be the best we have seen in the last 10 years.
3. Don Brown. He will help our offense improve by showing them the different looks and varieties of defense we will face this season. Steel sharpens steel and nothing is quite as sharp as our defense.
Wolverines are hungry and we are going to feast! this season.
Terrific.
The Oline already had decent run blocking, if I remember correctly we had 3 different running backs average 5.1 yards a carry or better. The run production was generally there, the pass protection and QBing wasn't.
Now we dont have Ty Isaac fumbling at the worst possible times anymore either. I really think Kareem Walker has a nice year he showed promise last year in being able to find the running lane and pick up 6-7 yards
This post is mediocre at best
Did you just put Catchafire on notice?
...you are giving this thread way too much praise.
he did say "at best". clearly this is not at best.
What are the chances we can neg this far enough to prevent future awful posts like we did in the Hunter Johnson post?
arrow so that we get unlimited votes. And, simultaneously lock the OP's ability to vote.
So, yes, it's possible.
Joe Milton is not going to play this year unless it is an absolute emergency.
This will be the third year in a row that the offense has faced Brown's defense in practice. They still sucked the last two years.
It would take a Maryland level of QB attrition for Milton to see the field.
Up vote for you... I didn't have to scroll down to far to find the exact thing I was going to say. No way Milton is even close to beating out anyone this year. Also agree that the O had been playing the D and has not seemed to help anything from a pass blocking standpoint.
On the other hand... excited to see a much more mature team with much better QB play this year!!! Go Blue!
Thank you. Milton couldn't even complete over 50% of his passes in high school. He has a lot of potential, but if he starts at any point this year Michigan is going to have a worse year than last year.
You know what they say. The backup to the backup to the backup QB is the most popular guy on the team.
Facing Don Brown's defense in practice would turn me into a shell shocked pansy who crumples at the slightest hint of a defender.
...
I mean, I'm already a pansy who would probably crumple at the slightest hint of a defender, but damnitall I'm not shellshocked!
Harbaugh actually said that regularly going up against Don Brown’s defense in practice can be a negative, since they operate very differently than most offenses and it doesn’t give the offense much of a look at what they’re going most often see from opponents.
For Joe Milton, in in the next year or two. He will not be higher than third string this year, and I will be stunned if he does not RS.
I remember when O'Korn was being hyped as the best QB on the roster coming out of spring and also during the season when he sat out... Milton hype is just that... hype. Not to say he won't learn grow and progress but agree with you 100%.
Aside from that interception against Ohio State he wasn’t awful
If your #1 reason for feeling like we could beat Notre Dame is Joe Milton, that makes me feel less confident.
This scene from Animal House flashes through my mind every time someone mentions Milton. And FWIW, I don't find Milton as boooring as Mrs. Milton did.
"I'm not joking! This is my job!" I love that line.
notice the position of the seam of the blackboard relative to the 'T' in 'SATAN' at 42 seconds. then notice it at 52 seconds.
yes, i've seen this movie a few too many times
What did you observe in the sorority pillow fight scene?
The activity in Mandy's room?
If memory serves that dude was a serious player. And using the Milton angle and a little weed worked out pretty good for him.
#ProfLife
put him in the game? If we see Milton starting game one then he is either the next coming of the greatest college QB (which I doubt right now) or else all of our other QB's are hurt and unable to play.
Milton has a huge upside but is raw as hell. He needs a year to RS and then might be ready to compete in 2019.
Freshman QB starting his first game ever at night in South Bend. What could possibly go wrong in that scenario????
Just sayin'
Now if only it was his 2nd game. Then he could go for 502 yards of offense on his own no problem
Denard was a sophomore and had taken snaps his freshman year
This is true, I definitely skipped over the freshman part of that post somehow despite it being literally the first word. Similar situation in starts but not the same in experience.
Seemed like there were four TD's scored in the last five minutes.
UM fans absolutely owned the post-game in the parking lots arounf=d the stadium.
Win The Game.
I don't see him starting an untested QB on the road against Notre Dame. We have seen over and over again that he goes with the more experienced and less talented QB every time. Peters should have started from Game 1 last year but he went with Wilting Speight. I think it is 90%+ Patterson unless he is hurt.
I apologise for the format mess. It is one big block of text, lol. But yes, Joe Milton is one of the reasons I am bullish on this season.
Yeah, he's really gonna bring it as the scout team QB.
You should keep an eye on if offshore sports books if they ever end up posting odds on Michigan’s starting qb game 1. My guess is Milton would have crazy odds and you’d be one rich monkey .
If Joe Milton is the reason you're optimistic for next season just lol
You are bullish over the season because of a 4th string qb who will redshirt? Makes sense.
not only did you actually list that as your number 1 reason, you just doubled down on it. apparently you found the tequila in the freezer at work.
i thought my company was the only one that actually has tequila in the freezer. is that a thing now?
If a UM fan actually thinks Milton can start this year, you lose all credibility to me and I don't take anything you say seriously. Maybe he's playing well, but there's no way a player who completed less than 50% of his passes his senior year of HS is playing as a true freshman unless it's a last resort.
Speaking of Notre Dame though, I do think it's a crime that ESPN FPI is giving us a 32% chance of winning that game
Don't get me wrong, I don't think he will start. I simply think he is good enough to really push the players ahead of him.
Based on what?
and so are guys that have already been in the system for a year and 2 years. and that doesn't include shea. shea didn't go through all that this off season just to get beat out by a true freshman
as if Joe Milton was named starting left tackle.
Not a good sign. Shaky post, man.
