OT - Reddit CFB Risk Update 5/21
Yesterday we gained Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Kent State, and Ohio to give ourselves a better footprint in the midwest and now we are bordering several OSU territories in their home state. We also won Umass and BC in the Northeast. Today we will continue to bring the fight to the Buckeyes and get them off of our map.

Announcements:
Clemson has now been formally announced as a member of our alliance. The current alliance is Michigan, Florida, Georgia Tech, Texas and Clemson.
If you are a relatively new reddit user, please check the game page to ensure that you are not being flagged as a bot. If you are flagged you will see a text box like the one below. If you are flagged as a bot, your turns will not assist our chances to win (although you can still accumulate turns so you can level up stars). If you see this box, then follow the hyperlink to fill out the survey, but ALSO message /u/bakonydraco directly on reddit to get the issue sorted out.
Instructions to Join:
To join all you need to do is go to reddit.com/r/cfb and create an account if you don't already have one. Next, set your flair to Michigan. You can do this by clicking "Select Flair" on the right side of the cfb subreddit. Finally, you can join and play the game at https://vote.redditcfb.com/cfbrisk.php.
If you want to discuss the game in deeper detail and strategize with us, you can join our discord server found here: https://discord.gg/TcZBTcj. We usually announce plans of what we want to attack/defend in the evenings, but we discuss strategy all day. Be warned though, there will be a vetting process to join the discord as we have had some mole issues from OSU. Even if you don’t pass the vetting process, we can still provide less-secret instructions in the general chat so that you can still help us towards our goals until we can fully 100% trust you.
Additionally, we have formed "The Blue Alliance" with Florida, Georgia Tech and Texas. If you would like to meme about this, go to: www.reddit.com/r/CFBRisk/
Go Blue!
Instructions as to how to play:
At the beginning of the game. Every team was assigned one single territory, and so every territory is now named after that team. When you go to select an action in the game, you'll see option such as:
"Defend Buffalo", "Attack Penn State", "Attack Kent State".
This means that we border the location that was originally assigned to Penn State and Kent State. If you choose to attack Penn State, you will attempt to take that piece of land next round. Defend Buffalo, means that we currently own Buffalo's original homeland, and defending Buffalo means putting your stars towards keeping Buffalo from being taken.
After you submit what you're doing for the day, just sit back at wait! At Midnight EST all of the picks from all of the teams go in, and a random number generator selects a winner for each territory. Then it all happens again tomorrow.

Time to die
It's gonna be the Blue Alliance vs. Nebraska lol.
You called?
It's disappointing that you had the opportunity to use a good Lurch GIF here and you didn't.
once the site upgrades there will be less missed opportunities
My deepest apologies.
I dropped the ball like Braylon with the Jets.
ONWARD TO VICTORY
from that weak ass Domer fight song have no place here. What the hell, Chuck!
I'm now a two star and we have over 1500 players for the good guys.
I'm still middling 1.5 star.
I guess I should have reddited more, I've lurked for over 10 years but never created an account or posted.
I know about this about as much as I know about Westworld.
I'm such a Luddite.
Is the strength of a team's army proportional to the number of territories that team occupies or is it solely based on the number of players voting for that team?
(e.g. assuming player count stays the same, does OSU's strength dimish as territories are taken from them or not?)
Do you like those gladiator movies?
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
it is totally dependent on number of players and their "star" ranking. so really, as you compress a team and try to go for the kill, they are almost certain to squeeze out past you and survive more or less forever.
If I'm trying to survive I'd rather have like 20 different terriorities to pick from than be trapped totally in Maine, for example. I think ideally we'd like OSU to focus on Maine while they get picked off in the Midwest, assuming the alliance works. Then we can concentrate our forces on their handful of remaining connected territories in the NE.
Considering how they've been playing, it does seem like it would be easier than we think to knock over Columbus. They've put much more into the northeast, but we're right on their doorstep now...
Yes I'm a 3 star now!
What does it take to level up in karma, CFB, or turns played? All three of them are 1 star for me.
Karma leveling is easy - just make comments and/or posts in r/cfb as you would here. You need 50 points for 2 star,500 for 3 and 5000 for 4 (a single well placed and funny/witty comment can get nearly 500 points on its own, so this is not hard). Just keep playing the game and you hit 4 stars by 20 days (2 after 5, 3 after 10). Ignore the awards and time on r/cfb + not much you can do about them (and don't need to anyway).
Ohio St is fighting a two/three front war, their days are numbered.
They are allied with some people on their borders though, so they’re not in as rough shape as it looks unfortunately.
I went from not giving an f for the first 18 days of this to last night staying up "exploring links" on Reddit to increase my stars. I am, as they say, ALL IN!
I barely know what I'm doing but I go in and get my orders and make my click every weekday!
An alliance with Clemson is physically painful to me, but one does what one must
I think it'd help, if we got Hunter Johnson to play.
Ohio will burn. Lets do this!
Huge win last night.
