New in-state offers: 2020 OG Dallas Fincher, DE Bryce Mostella

Submitted by Magnus on

Michigan offered two 2020 prospects from within the state, both from the same school: East Kentwood. This is the same school that has 2019 prospects Logan Brown (Wisconsin) and Mazi Smith.

Dallas Fincher is a 6'4", 260 lb. guard with offers from Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan State. He's a 247 Sports 3-star, the #15 OG, and #426 overall. There are 2 crystal balls for MSU.

Bryce Mostella is a 6'6", 235 lb. weakside end with offers from Iowa, Kentucky, and Penn State. He's a 247 Sports 4-star, the #13 weakside end, and #242 overall. There's 1 crystal ball for Michigan.

I think they're both good prospects. They're not "must get" material, IMO, like Donovan Peoples-Jones was. Fincher moves well, and Mostella reminds me of the Florida guy who was committed to Michigan a couple years ago and then ended up at Pitt (Rashad Weaver). Mostella is more advanced at the same age, but I think they have similar skills.

For anyone who's wondering, Weaver had 28 tackles, 6 TFLs, and 3 sacks as a redshirt freshman last year.

Friend on the EK staff says Fincher as an MSU legacy will end up on EL but that Bryce is going to be an animal, very strong kid. Lot of talent for EK this season.

Yeah, EK has crazy talent, but they don't have very good football teams.  So you're getting kids with good measurables but questionable technique from there IMO.  I have a nehpew who played on the line there a few years ago and know a coach there too.  They'll have a team this year with a 5 star and several 4 stars and they won't come close to winning their conference much less winning state.  And they have the best track program in the staet, so they have speed to burn, not just size.

I'm not sure about their track program, but I'm not sure it translates. All the EK products are big guys - OT, OG, DT, DE. They're not known for producing skill players. So maybe the track stars are so intent on being good at track that they don't play football.

Not worth starting a new thread over but psu is fucking killing it on the recruiting trail. Franklin is an elite recruiter and if we don’t pick it up Michigan is going to be the 3rd most talented team in the division in a couple of years.

Not to be hyperbolic, but does this season feel like it will make or break the Harbaugh era at Michigan? You can see the interest top recruits have and if they see Michigan winning they will start coming. If this year is a disappointment it's going to be all Tyler Fridays and 3* sadness until further notice.

Huge game for the direction of the program.
