Joe Milton maturing in '4-way tie' battle at quarterback (The Michigan Insider)
"I think right now, after spring ball… I think it’s like a 4-way tie," Milton said. "I don’t know if anybody’s leading right now. Because like, I don’t want to hype myself up over nobody else, but I think it’s a tie right now."Adding:"It’s a 4-way tie. Competition’s going to be strong in the fall. So, just gotta fight for it."
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
Joe can play. He has a shot to be elite. Him and Dylan will battle for the starting job next year.
Imo barring an unforseen circumstance Shea will be qb 1 for this season. He is too good and has experience and phenomenal leadership.
It's people like this that I criticized a few weeks ago. They're the same people who thought Zavier Simpson would never be a contributor here based on his freshman season.
I hate to say it, but yes i am. His demeanor is not that of an elite qb. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, you never know.
For the record, I believe in X. Always have and always will.
For Now!
He goes by X still. It's been his nickname his whole life.
There was only an /s missing bud. Michigan fans sure are uppity lately.
Xavier Truss go by Z?
Trolls believe in nothing.
Lol, I still remember when A CErtain writer here claimed that Peters was the best QB on the team as a true freshman and one of the "most likely freshmen to play" in 2016.
Reporters could have said this. A CErtificate could be grACEfully awarded in A CEremony to A CEntenarian who could rACE to guess it. You shouldn’t mention their name because A CEnsorship may result. It is good that you know your plACE and have saved fACE on this board.
Been there, done that.
This is talent ladies and gentlemen
Patterson, Milton, and McCaffrey weren't here then, so A CERtain writer might still have been right, at that time?
Are you guessing what his demeanor is? Or are you at practice and in the huddle?
Bruh watch the Prime series.
Dont know what Bruh means. That some millennial colloquialism?
Did not watch the Amazon series but it seems to me like you would still be making a leap based on a mere snapshot.
Bruh is a slang form of Brother.
And a miss.
Definitely off the planet. Gee Willikers! Don’t you go calling me your Bruh. Rotf
I’m not your BRUH! Ok Bra? You can take that Bro stuff and stick it Broham! Lol
Calling him done is beyond the pale.
Brian Griese had a ten year NFL career and won a National Championship as a Senior.
As a Sophomore he could not throw the ball to an open receiver beyond 20 yards.
I agree with you that that it's wrong to artitrarily write Peters off, you're right. But he's now in his third year here, and this fall's competition will be IMO the turning point of his career at M.
but john navarre as a senior >>>>>> soph. nobody would have thought he had a chance in the nfl after his soph or even jr season.
I like Brandon Peters a lot. But I don't thnk he's better than Dylan McCaffrey. Peters may not be in the same place Griese was in. Brandon Peters has one last chance at Michigan. He is going to have to beat out McCaffrey for 2nd string this Fall Camp, or, he is done at Michigan.
Dylan McCaffrey seems to be the type of person where there's no looking back. If he gets ahead of Peters he probably would never let it go. And that may have already happened.
Who has seen him practice? Most of us know very little about where he is. I haven’t seen Peters running for a new school just yet.
Peters showed promise as well as a need to grow.
We have some young and likely very talented QBs on this team. Let’s let them compete and get better and see where it goes.
True, we outside have not seen him.
But what you say is right.
That was Peters' third year with the program, it's fair to have concerns after what transpired last season.
He was a redshirt in 2016 and a redshirt freshman in 2017.
It's difficult to take your opinion seriously when you don't have the facts straight.
I don't know if Peter will or won't develop into a quality QB but I do know that less than 6 full games with (1) an OL which struggles at pass protection, (2) a WR group that didn't even have a dedicated full-time coach, and (3) questionable offensive playcalling isn't a good indicator of a young QB's ability.
opinion seriously when you can't get the last name correct.
So the poster above didn't know which year Peters is in.
Meanwhile I missed a "s" at the end of Peters because I'm typing on my phone.
It reflects poorly on you and your mental capacity for discussion if you think the two mistakes are the same.
And I doubt you care but I have the 3rd post in this thread. I typed BP's name correctly.
In any case, carry on with your petty imitations.
BUT LET THIS BE A WARNING TO EVERYBODY!!!
DO NOT!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT!!!
LET ME CATCH YOU PUTTING AN S ON THE END OF MEIJER!!!
....never would as I shop at Krogers and work at Fords!
How about Kmart's?
I'm a Meijer Wolverine, those clowns are always selling out the hometown (state) employer just to spite their rival.
Meijer changed from Meijer's to just Meijer in 1986. I worked there in 1987 after the name change but everyone still called it Meijer's because it was Fred Meijer's Thrifty Acres. We were all just fortunate that he let us enjoy his thrifty acres.
Or Anyway, for that matter
We had had this very conversation while driving to Meijers and Kmarts....
We had had this very conversation while driving to Meijers and Kmarts....
Holy shit dude Peters is not starting get over it this has nothing to do with typos or details about eligibility or intelligence. Chill the fuck out acting like someone is mentally handicapped because they thought Peters is a third year player.
And don't forget Harbaugh's own admission of making the mistake of not practicing against zone coverage. It's kind of important to know how to read that type of defense too.
played Cover 1 virtually the entire game. Peters either couldn't read it (despite it being Michigan's defense) or read it and couldn't get the ball off.
It wasn't the OL and it wasn't the playcalling in the bowl game. It was him. He's been in the system for 2+ years now and looks more like a liability to game plan around than a guy defenses are worried about. Could he dramatically improve these next few years? Yes. But the results in the games he's played and the fact O'Korn continually stayed ahead of him on the depth chart despite his issues doesn't point to him playing a lot more, if any, meaningful snaps in his Michigan career.
I saw it with my own two eyes. TB was a tall, lanky highly touted national prospect that just didn't seem to develop in AA. He looked so bad in limited action that the fanbase nearly revolted when he was splitting snaps with golden boy Drew Henson in 1998. If there had been social media back then, he may well have left team given the vitriol that was spewed at the guy.
It wasn't mid-1999, when Brady was destroying the B1G that Michigan fans began to rally around him. Not saying that Peters is going to be Tom Brady, but never give up on Michigan men.
Exactly what you are saying is where the talk of him transferring out originated from.
The QB kitchen at Michigan is crowded. I wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer out. I still think he has potential to make the NFL. But he will have to play full time somewhere to help his chances for it.
That was his second year in the program, and his first not on a redshirt.
Are you referring to the fact that he was an early enrollee? Because he is only a redshirt sophomore this coning season. He has three more years of eligibility and has only seen the field in one season.
While I personally am a huge fan of McCaffrey, it’s worth remembering that the last qb to lead us to a national championship didn’t throw a single pass hs redshirt freshman year. I think it might be a touch early to write Peters off.
Peters is way better than Threet, Sheridan and/or Bellomy. It is nice having so many viable option this year at QB.
Peters going from savior to pariah in about a month is one of the quicker fan overreactions I've seen around here.
is really calling him a pariah, and it is wrong to assume he is “finished” in the program, but Patterson is going to start next year. Harbaugh did not put on the full court press and haggle with the NCAA for months for a “hearty competition.” Brian is not doing Shae UFRs “just in case.” I like Peters, but we know who the starting QB is next year.
