Last year wasn't good. I have no doubt that there are some good players that are a part of that class, but if we want to win playoff games, we need athletes, and that means we need top ten level classes at least with occasional top fives (not coincidently, the types of classes that this year's team is built on).

This fall is a huge year. Michigan has lost its new-coach momentum with Harbaugh and the results need to show up on the field. If Michigan is a playoff contender and especially if we make it, Harbaugh can land elite guys and last year is just a bit of a blip. If things melt down (I doubt this will happen but it's not impossible) Michigan is going to start looking radioactive to top talent and it will be a long haul given the division we're in.

I'd say so. Looks like we'll whiff on two in-state five star OTs and a top RB Crouch. Herron is also probably gone. Michigan doesn't look strong for other top 100 guys. Since 2019 was supposed to be a great class for Michigan, I'd say it's looking disappointing, though far from over.

Is trying to get ZH to visit on the weekend of June 22-24.  The Hinton bros, and a few other high profile recruits are taking their offical that weekend.  Might just be our biggest recruiting weekend of 2018. Go Blue.

Getting a kid on campus can do wonders.

Zach might see Michigan as a 2nd home vs OSU.

He also might like the fact that unlike Urbz, Harbaugh doesn't do the Red Fox routine...

I think the Red Fox/Urban bit is funny, but I wonder where you draw the line.   Urban supposedly has some mental health issues that weren't brought on by banging co-eds.  He also had some legit physical issues.   He did the right thing in quitting Florida given all he was dealing with.     ...but I still want to make fun of him because it is football and he is a wussy.

Flip side, a HS friend's son, a Michigan athlete, committed suicide a few years ago dealing with mental health issues.   I don't want anyone to think my ripping on Urban means they shouldn't get help.

I'm serious, when I'm watching the game with my OSU buddy,  how do I rip on Urban in the most biting, yet sensitive way?  (Red Fox is funny)

Just focus your biting commentary on Urbz and the Florida coeds, I feel like that should give you plenty of material to work with.  Also, it would seem the "cardiac" stuff should also give you plenty to work with, there are very few fatal cardiac conditions that resolve by taking essentially the exact same job (minus the coeds and pending NCAA investigations).  Either he was fabricating that or he actually is risking his life. Either way, dumb move on his part for someone who is so family oriented (except when it comes to coeds).

His chest pains were eventually diagnosed as resulting from gastroesophageal reflux disease. He's also talked openly about dealing with anxiety and depression, and presumably those are being treated with the same sort of meds that millions of people take every day, plus behavioral therapy.

As for banging the coeds, I have no idea whether that's an issue now.

Wow, so jokes on here need to be entirely factually correct? All the concern trolling is nauseating to watch. Anyone attempting humor should ensure any such humorous correlations ONLY contain precise connections to reality. Please delete the comment and find a Redd Foxx joke where he feigns suffering from precisely what Urban was experiencing.

I am not aware of any issues rearding Urbz and his mental health. All I know is of his esphogeal issues that were initially misdiagnosed as heart issues, assuming that's true.

If he does have mental health issues, then it obviously isn't an issue as I'd think other coaches would use it to negatively recruit against OSU.

But then again, maybe you have to have issues to be a great head coach.

Would a kid needlessly string us out?  Or is it more likely that just another Ohio kid going to OSU vs the one who went against the grain and went to TTUN and beat OSU.

*shrug*

Maybe it's Friday optimism.  If you look at our DL lately and their play in the pros, and those about to, $$ NFL.

I remember when Joey Bosa visited Michigan for the 2012 spring game.  If I remember correctly, he basically was a dick to the other recruits and bad mouthed Michigan.  Seems like he came just troll Michigan and get to know OSU's biggest rival.

Still don't like that guy.

I live in Delaware County and I have no idea what you are talking about. This area is very pro OSU. The word around here is the same as the recruiting boards...he’s not a lock to OSU. He LOVED his Penn State visit. It opened his eyes to what else might be out there. It’s an OSU - PSU battle with an open mind to UM. He has visited OSU over a dozen times in the last year. Loves his family and will probably stay close to home and go to OSU when all is said and done BUT it is definitely not guaranteed.

I am not going to link it, because it will set you up for a potential (likely) heartbreak. I will just say that his highlight film from his junior year was astonishng. As a receiver, he looked like Nick Eubanks, and as a defensive lineman he looked like James Hudson. He was bigger and stronger than everybody on the field. He also was faster, quicker, and more coordinated.

I've heard that Clemson and OSU, in that order, are his top two, but anyone from Ohio who's not automatically going to the home team is worth fighting for.

I think Sam Webb stated he was one of the best athletes he's ever covered. I think the feeling is that he is a Midwest guy. So if UM can't convince him to go here, he'll more than likely end up on a conference foe's roster.

Edit: it appears that Clemson is also a player. That would be better than OSU or PSU.

I’ve seen him run track since he was a freshman. His feet are too big for track shoes so he runs in regular sneakers. His stride is effortless and he never looks like there is effort, he just flies.

I sure hope he picks the good guys. GO BLUE!
