For those of you who follow his posts, just wanted to let folks know that his daughter and granddaughter were in a bad car accident on Sunday.  The granddaughter looks to be doing okay but his daughter is headed into surgery on her pelvis right now.

This was posted over at Rivals, where he posts under a different account name, and he said it was okay to post here.

The family has set up a GoFundMe which I'll link below (I hope that's okay - I don't post a lot here).  I'm sure someone will do something if it's not.

In any event, please keep the family in your thoughts.

born, things like health insurance didn't exist, or at least nowhere near like they do now. when mom and dad started having kids it was the 50's and a totally different era.  dads waited in the waiting room for a doctor to come out and tell them about the birth of their baby - remember, no ultra sound back then either, so they'd get to know the gender then too.

anyway, dad always told the story about how he didn't have any money and had no idea how he was going to get big brother out of the hospital.  he ends up playing cards with all the other fathers-in-waiting, and cleans up.  paid the bill and then some.  did you bring a deck of cards?

that's the best i can do for distraction, but hopefully the prayers of us bloggers are more effective.  blessings to your daughter, in particular.

As I sit here giving my infant daughter her bottle before bed, can’t imagine the anguish you’re feeling right now. Best of luck in surgery to your daughter and to your entire family through the recuperation process.

How terrible. Nothing more gut wrenching than getting news like that. Feel so helpless. Thoughts and well wishes and prayers for the family.
