CBS Sports "super early" look at top 100 prospects for 2019 NFL draft

Submitted by Jasper on

Yes, it's very early to be thinking about the 2019 NFL draft, but this guy's projection is interesting partly because it contains four Michigan players (Gary at #3, Winovich at #42, Bush at #47, and Hill at #77).

You'll also see several players from teams on the 2018 schedule.

Alex Bars (younger brother of former Michigan player Blake and an ND lineman) is on the list. So, too, is Larry Allen III ( http://americansportsnet.com/ivy-league/harvard-crimson/in-his-fathers-… ), son of the legendary Dallas Cowboy Larry Allen (II, I guess).

No Shea on the list is odd.

Gary at 3 is solid. I would hate to have to try and block him this year.

Bosa at 1... yeah prolly not.

We will have a good haul in the 2019 draft. The 2020 draft is where we will really make some waves, though.  If we have a B1G championship season and playoff appearance, we will likely have more early entrants.  I will take that scenario over a disappointing season and seniors coming back tring to make things right.  Bush would be a tiny NFL linebacker, but he is so athletic and explosive that it almost does not matter.

Considering his height, #47 seems extremely optimistic for Bush. #80-100 seems more likely, even if he has an All-Big Ten season, as expected.

The other guys draft positions seem more plausible.

They will do very well on this team, in Don Brown's system, but they are not the kind of lock-down corners that NFL teams draft in the first round. Maybe that's a mistake, or not fair, but it will probably end up being the case.

They excel at man coverage (Don Brown's system), and both will run in the 4.4s. If they aren't what they NFL looks for in corners then i dont know what they are looking for these days. Long will probably go before Hill because he's 6'0 but both will definitely be off the board by the end of Round 3.

Curious as to why you don't think they are potential first round picks. Only have to look at our rivals to see that Lattimore and Waynes went #11 and Dennard went #24 recently. All are pretty similar in size, at least close enough that it won't make much of a difference. Lewis was shorter and was almost a first round lock until he caught a case right before the draft.
