Starting to wonder if Mo gets drafted? Something's going on. Heart issue, I guess, in spite of clearance from UM and Harvard. He is far and away the best player unselected and has been for a long while.

Partially guaranteed contracts end after the second round. After that only the signing bonuses are guaranteed. Seems crazy somebody hasn't taken him at this point (Patriots on the clock at 114 now).

EDIT(s): Lions have traded up for that pick at 114 -- this is it? Nope! Hand!

Antonio Callaway, the gold standard of fuck-ups, drafted and Mo is still on the board. What a cruel world.

At least Callaway is going to career purgatory in Cleveland. He’ll be learning from a great role model in Josh Gordon.

To me, the NFL continuing to draft guys with multiple red flags and assuming they won't rear their ugly heads when they are now flush with money sorta proves just how dumb a lot of these guys are. Like, I'm starting to believe the idea that the best coaches aren't super-geniuses as much as intelligent people who are playing chess against just an overwhelming number of idiots playing checkers.

And at this point, he'd be better off as a UDFA.  If it turns out he's OK and can play he'll be able to get a good contract sooner than later (see La'el Collins).  If he goes in the 4th (or later) not so much.  There may be something to the reports that he was a little inconsistent on tape, but that would turn him into a second rounder at worst.  But it's clear that he's off the board for pretty much everybody.

Just because he was "cleared" doesn't mean there isn't a major risk.  If the condition is degenerative, he'll eventually be forced out of the game (see Nick Fairley).  It's a bitter pill and not fair in the least but it's reality.

You're probably right. He might as well pick his team, get on a short contract, and play his way to a bigger deal. It sucks because of the lost guaranteed money, but it'll be better for his long-term career than being a 6th rounder for a shitty fit. I will say, the only person I saw say he was inconsistent effort was Stephen White at SBNation, a former lineman who, well, has a checkered history of knowing what he's talking about.

So a guy who was suspended by his college program and couldn't stay away from weed long enough to not test positive at the combine is drafted while Hurst sits waiting.

Go ahead, tell me again how risk-averse NFL GMs are.

I suspect Callaway was off a lot of boards too.  Some teams will take a character risk.  But clearly, Mo's medical situation more problematic than his people are trying to spin it (as you would expect).

At this point though, you'd think some team would take a flier on Hurst, if he's healthy enough to play you just got the steal of the draft and will look like a genius.  If he's not healthy enough to play, you only spent a late 4th or 5th pick on a potential stud.  The fans will understand.

MSU's Brian Allen got drafted by the Rams, surprise, was hoping he went undrafted to they would no longer be in a tie with us for the longest streak on having players drafted.

Just looked up to see he's been moved down to #4 after an hour. So the guys who moved ahead of him weren't yet drafted but somehow became better bets? Maybe because they figure he should have been drafted earlier and since he hasn't been...
