I'm so sorry to hear this.

He has seemed so fatigued, gaunt and haggard this season. Now we know why. I have to believe he retires once this series is over. And not a moment too soon with the Kawhi situation about to blow up in RC's face.
Maybe you're more in tune than I but I'm not sure about retirement. If anything, basketball is the thing he has left...maybe he goes out and tries do do the best he has left in him for another 2, 4, 5, 10 years?!

I am sure the stress of this situation certainly didn't help, but I agree with the other poster above - I see someone like Popovich going hard at basketball as he moves forward inasmuch as he can from this. To that point, I cannot even imagine the sorrow in losing someone you've been married to for over 40 years. Very sad news.
Pop has been an ambassador of sorts to the NBA. Never a dull moment in his post game press conferences either. I hope he can get through the tough times he’ll face in the coming weeks. Rest easy Mrs. Pop!
...my condolences to Popovich and his family. Not sure if the illness was cancer or not, but regardless, fuck cancer.
Wow that’s awful. Hope you and your family are doing ok.
Blessings to you, your family and all the memories. Take care.
but this probably isn't the place to get into too much detail. regardless, blessings to you all. my dad had to deal with that when we were kids (and us too). tough stuff, way tough.

MGoBlog is a great escape to take your mind off things....but since there are immature kids on here (hoping for their own sake they are actually kids and not sad adult trolls) that downvote cancer posts, I try to focus on, and enjoy, all things Michigan on here (especially since my wife and I had so many great Michigan memories).
I'm kinda of old but one key thing my mother told me that I find to be very true everywhere I roam -- 10% of the world is mentally ill. So don't sweat the nut jobs.
Fuck cancer!

Fuck cancer, indeed. I hope things are getting better for you and your family.
as a person and a coach
truly sad situation for his family and friends
May light perpetual shine upon her.
LeBron and KD's reaction really puts it all into perspective

Yeah, but fuck TNT and ESPN for asking these questions when they did. No respect.
The TNT reporter told Lebron about it off the air, and asked if he wanted to say anything. He said he wanted to. Completely respectful.
No, we need moar uncalled for outrage.

in Pecos, TX on the way from NM last summer, and they had something akin to a shrine to Pop, including a letter of thanks from him for their amazing food. That guy means a great deal to a lot of people.
