OT: Sparty considering bringing back Reschke...
Jon Reschke who left MSU after a "mutual decision" following him tweeting racist comments, appears to be working w Sparty to rejoining the team. ...Win at all costs

"Hey, I've got an idea, what if we bring back some of the bad locker room chemistry from that 3-9 season?"
Napoleon Bonaparte
Perhaps derived from the Art of War, which Napoleon presumably had read?
Please can they?
cool moment on Conan last night
I had thought Jim had gone a little crazy over the last couple years with some of the news I was seeing about him, but dammit, I still like the guy.
And it's not really that bad. Wait till you get to my age. Then you get to watch a whole bunch of them die
Which reminds me. When my late father was asked on his 87th birthday how if felt to turn 87 he replied:
"It beats the living hell out of the alternative"
had a client years ago that when asked how he was doing would respond: above ground and vertical. sweet old guy passed about five years ago in his 90s.
Gosh that was awesome.
Bringing back a player that called his teammate the N-word would only be like the 10th worst thing at that school this month.
I hope they do it and I hope the lockerroom craters. I hope every black player on the team and all the white players who care decide to not report to camp in August. Just do it, Mork, you spineless ass.
Considering how the BoT/Administration/Engler are handling the whole Nassar investigation and attacking his victims...
And considering how shit flows downhill from the top....
Would this REALLY be a surprise?

I agree his second chance should come elsewhere, but he's served his time if you consider that time away to be a suspension. If you can drink and drive, get in a fight, etc., be suspended, and come back, then you should be able to say some words and then come back, as long as there has been sufficient time and reparations in the meantime.
I've seen worse things happen with the program in East Lansing.
Do we really think a player should be allowed to play again after drinking and driving? How low can the bar be set? Sparty continues to plow the depths.
Graham Glasgow, Kevin Grady, Darryl Stonum, and others have all been brought back after some form of alcohol-related traffic issues.
Doesn't mean the poster thinks that was a good idea. Personally I would say a poor decision like drinking and driving is different. Calling a teammate a racial slur involves some deeper issues that don't just change with a suspension. And I don't just mean the obvious racial issues---this was a TEAMMATE in one of the most team-centric sports. If you don't have enough respect for a teammate to at least not call him one of the worst slurs in the English language, you might not be great for the team.
Anyway I have no insight into the actual situation so I can't say whether this is incredibly stupid or just everyday-sparty stupid. But it's absolutely not the same as the run-of-the-mill stuff (not that drunk driving is, but whatever I'm hitting "Save" now).
He said it in a txt to his girlfriend who slept with that teammate of his. She then posted it when they broke up, i believe.
If you ask me both players had some issues and it was pretty clear there were far more issues in the lockerroom other than this one.
I think he should be given a second chance. I'm sure worse has been said/done there. He's done his time.
It was an old rumor that she was sleeping with that teammate. That wasn't even happening, he thought they were when they weren't.
Well at least it was concentual and not rape. With the way things have been going over there, I would have expected it to be his teammate raped his girlfriend.
too soon
The Mbem-Bosse thing was discussed down here in Tejas. I know the cool aid drinkers won't believe this but UM football is becoming a joke. Morning radio guys wondering what the hell is going on in AA.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if he's made peace with the locker room, there's nothing wrong with him rejoining the team.
" Ebony and Reschke, live together in abject disharmony"
Isn't this his 6th year? Did he get a medical redshirt?
There's a myth that Dantonio redshirts everyone. In fact, he rarely redshirts 4* recruits like Reschke unless they play on the OL.
How are we still talking about a guy from the class of 2013?
My mistake. One more player they are going to claim was injured during his redshirt year.
Did they name him Scout Player of the Year while he was "out hurt"???
asking for a friend....
Amazingly his bio reads as follows for his redshirt year:
2013 SEASON: Redshirted . . . named Scout Team Special Teams Player of the Week vs. Ohio State.
Which is eerily familar to Mr. Davis' injury-plagued 2011 medical redshirt season:
2011 SEASON: Redshirted . . . named Scout Team Defensive Player of the Week vs. Minnesota . . . selected Scout Team Special Teams Player of the Week vs. Central Michigan.
And yes, Reschke's MSU football bio is the first hit if you google his name.
They put him in the Ed Davis time machine.
Besides the locker room fit after getting kicked off the team, how does he have any eligibility left? He had a redshirt year already. And I don't see any way you could appeal 2017-18 as any kind or injury or hardship year.
Bad for locker room chemistry and he's just an ok player who's athletically limited.
Plus there's the potential for some amazingly awkward press conference questions.
I always understood that you had 5 years to exhaust your eligibilty. Six if you have a significant injury or rare circumstance.
He redshirted in 2013
Played in 2014, 2015, 2016 and off the team in 2017.
They may need to spin this to get him back unless I'm misinterpreting the rule.
off? Is that a thing? I remember something like that for Chris Weinke. Anyway, the whole thing is bizarre.
The guy needs to move on with his life.
Weinke changed sports from baseball to football, which is why he was granted that extra year.
Sounds about right... Sparty gonna Spart!
Wouldn't that be a great move...from Michigan's perspective? This is the guy who helped crater the MSU locker room as they spiraled to a 3-9 record.
When Reschke got the boot, Joe Bachie took over his position and kicked ass. Are you going to bench him? Switch his position?
Are the other MSU players going to wonder if Reschke will start rumors of infidelity and cuckolding again?
Why the fuck would you want this guy back on your team?
It seriously makes no sense. Joe Bachie is likely an All-American candidate next year. I don't really see where Jon Reschke fits in the LB rotation for Dantonio.
To play DE from what I've heard....
