he got hurt pretty bad, the consensus is he may never recover enough to play a down in the NFL.

That being said, the article states the Seahawks may debate about going after the money he was paid, since he did it to himself and likely will never play for them.

He should have come to Michigan. Most likely he wouldn’t be in this situation. Injured or not, he has some issues.

WHOA- I lost a lot of points. Not sure what I did, but apparently I made someone with power very mad. Anyway to find out what I did? I would like to corrrect my mistake and earn my points back. I’m all about competition ;)

Well.... first off not necessarily true. His life would be different and he might not have been doing what he was doing at that time, which caused an accident.

Second off... If he had come to Michigan he would likely be able to get a job other than flipping burgers, which is what he’ll be doing with the MSU degree.

Third off..... An injured player who doesn’t have baggage is more likely to get 2nd chances while trying to recover from an injury. He has baggage... so he’s cut.

Good grief. This MSU burger flipping thing... I'm over it, man. I know lots of ably employed MSU grads (I am not an MSU grad FWIW, go Lakers) who are doing just fine. I think we can stop with the 'what if he came to Michigan' BS. He made his decision. His life is what it is. We shouldn't wish for a bad career outcome for anyone, regardless of where they played football... this is dumb.

Maybe you can just go away.

That would be good.

You're. Sorry you're stuck with me. It's you're, not your. First rule of running down someone else's education is to read your rant carefully and correct for junior high grammar errors. Just stop digging, click the little x up in the corner of your browser window, and move on to something else.

It's a bush league jab.  Take a look at what it takes to get into MSU these days.  They're not taking stooges.  I understand that the football players don't have to meet those standards for admittance but that doesn't change the fact that the "knock" is lame.

I hate the spartoons more than the next guy but be more creative.

The recent Mbem-Bosse thread truly demonstrates how McDowell may have never acted this way had he just come to Michigan...

You can blast MSU for a lot of things lately, and it may in fact be true that MSU was a poor environment for him. It may also in fact be true that McDowell has his own issues and was going to have issues wherever he landed.

Maybe Corley doesn't screw up if he goes to Michigan, because he is put in a different situation. Maybe Boubacar Cissoko reaches his potential outside of football if he leaves a lot of his bad influences behind. Certainly, circumstances can change an outcome, but it's often extremely difficult to know what those circumstances are before you're in them. McDowell would have been closer to a lot of his poor influences at Michigan, even if there were other reasons his mom supposedly didn't like him at MSU.

But to act like he would have been a Rhodes Scholar because he went to UM is just being blinded. This guy had issues at MSU, he had issues after he left MSU (when this accident happened). He ended up doing him and his family no favors, which is a damn shame, in my opinion, because he had a ton of talent.
