Not a huge amount of substance there. It sure is strange seeing him wearing Michigan gear. I sure hope he is able to help turn our offense around this year.

I don't know what it is that does it, but something just rubs me the wrong way about that guy.

Is he on the naughty list?
April 16th, 2018 at 11:20 PM ^
I see him differently. Like one of those good guy shark humpers, and not one of those jerk shark humpers.....
Just kidding. But it is a nice story. And I like how he didn’t feel a need to be interviewed. It’s not about him, he gets it.
Go Blue!!

Definitely does not come across as having an enthusiam unknown to mankind, just hope he can help the team get better.
old joke. Retracted

Jim M. with the assist.

Huh. Has the order changed since his hire? I thought I recall you saying that the offense was going to be run through Mcelwain, as opposed to through Pep. Maybe I'm just misremembering?

I don't know that I'm a fan of this. McElwain was an offensive genius at both Alabama and Colorado State. Those years were why Brian was stumping hard for him to become Michigan's head coach. His offenses were amazing. Pep seems to be a clown. This seems like this is coach restructuring fail.

I read someone from Maize N Brew say that if Michigan's passing is the same as last year after about 4 games in this season, someone above Coach Harbaugh at Michigan is going to take action about Pep Hamilton. He did't say what the action would be.
But the question has to be asked, how relaible is Maize N Brew?

Would you say that McElwain's role will be similar to Drevno's last year in respect to share of responsibility?
April 17th, 2018 at 12:36 AM ^
Hope so. That worked out so well last year.

Thanks for sharing this OP

Man he's uncomfortable with the press.
April 16th, 2018 at 11:43 PM ^
....but I hear he does well with the sharks.
Nm I'm dumb

I can't imagine he's a great recruiter. He may be a good Xs and Os guy but WOOF.
April 16th, 2018 at 11:49 PM ^
Doesn't really matter.
Michigan already has McElwain.
....wonder if he is related to brian kelly, if so, how many shades of purple does he get up to???

Sharknado 4, shark fever forever. Samuel L Jackson made the intro.

I can’t help but get the feeling he is only here for one year
I would be okay with that.
Going from HC at Florida to WR coach at Michigan. I hope he a better X and Os guy than a public speaker.
I’m here for all the tiresome shark jokes..
Where they at?
So you have an af-fin-ity for those?
That was tough to watch
“Oh I don’t know. Teams build differently to win their conference.”
The equivalent of saying the Big Ten is slow and I’m just here until Saban offers me the OC position at Alabama. Hahaha.
Seems very unexcited to be here to say the least. Sure wouldn't hurt for him to spend some time with Fred Jackson!
You are too kind. He seems boring AF, but maybe he just puts on that face when he talks to the media and is more energetic when he's coaching. I mean that personality sure doesn't win recruiting battles or get you a HC job 2X.
seems like an awkward guy. i hope he's a great addition to the coaching staff, odd duck or not.

I had read several stories that he isnt someone comfortable with the limelight. He is good as a HC at a smaller school or an assistant at a big school, but not as The Man at a big school.
Many thought he would land as a HC at a smaller school before he joined the staff at Michigan.

I enjoyed the Al Washington interview from last night much more than Jim's...

he could potentially bring to the table for Michigan. TBH, I think his accolades excite me more than Pep's.....I am hoping for JM to end up our coordinator, but I realize that we would pretty much have to suck on offense this year for that to happen.
What are Pep Hamilton's accolades?
