Wrigley Field may be used for football again

Under its new configuration

As you might recall, Wrigley hosted the Northwestern-Illionois game in 2010, but because of the proximity of the end zones to walls, they could not utilize the entire field. Some of the new stands are apparantly removable, thus allowing for more space.

Would anyone want to play Northwestern at Wrigley? Would still probably by Michigan Stadium West.

We joke about being backed up into the stands, but you could very well have been if they had played with the normal flow of the field the last time they tried this at Wrigley. I actually didn't realize that with the renovation came removable seating, and yeah, it would be interesting to see a Michigan / Northwestern game there.

I like the Ryan Field home games but getting back to the city from Evanston always takes forever. You'd lose the odd and endearing tailgate scene but I'm sure the out of town crowd would have a good time in Wrigley beforehand.

but the sight lines for baseball stadiums don't translate as well to football games. Half the stadium has end zone view or worse.  At least the one I attended did.  Maybe if they went from home to CF but then there isn't much of a midfield view.

i don't know how.  they would have to remove a brick wall and the dugouts extend out to where that wall is anyway.

i was just there today.  beautiful 70 degrees when i got there.  44 when i finally got home.
