Michigan commit Ignas “iggy” Brazdeikis will play at Nike Hoop Summit this week

Nice article about incoming basketball recruit who seems to be a great fit for our offense. I just picked out a few quotes I found interesting.

"I definitely model my game after Gordon Hayward," he said. "I feel like me and him are similar players in terms of being able to attack, shoot and make plays." Both are 6-foot-8 skilled forwards and Brazdeikis hopes to be a mirror image of him, literally, as the 19-year-old Lithuanian-born Canadian shoots left-handed.

"A natural righty, Brazdeikis has a southpaw stroke, although he showed comfort using his right hand with some punishing one-handed dunks.”

“I feel like (Michigan) coach (John) Beilein deserves a national championship, being a runner-up twice, as well as the Michigan program and Michigan fans. They definitely deserve a ring," he said.”

”Brazdeikis, who goes by "Iggy," committed to Michigan in September, and he said Beilein and the Michigan coaching staff were his biggest factor. "Coach Beilein's just such a trustworthy guy," Brazdeikis said.“

For those of you who don't know, the Nike Hoops Summit is essentially a US vs. World All-Star game. Here is a link to see who is playing this year.

Absolutely criminal that he's in the 130's on the composite. ESPN devoting nobody to recruiting, Rivals being full of people who are impossibly awful at scouting, and scout merging with 247 really killed the composite's goodness. Honestly I'd reather just look at the 247 grade itself.

This guy will be one of
Johns best e we commits . He is really good and a matchup nightmare . Kid has played oak hill and some of the other top teams and tore it up over last few years .

Is anyone else in the Portland area going to this?

Tickets can be had for only $10. I'm going by myself but wouldn't be opposed to meeting up with any fellow fans.

I feel dirty not rooting for the USA. I’ll likely root for team USA To win, but for Iggy to dominate and be the best player on the court.
