This is the Culture of today's society ... and the general public is fucking clueless.  This will not end well for people that want freedom, independence and justice ... as this is an attack on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  We're all fucked!  If you stand up against the corruption ... they will destroy you with baseless attacks to make you irrelevent.

Thank God we have Harbaugh and Belien.   Go Blue!

Uh, hi guys. I hate to sound petty, but …

This is the second time this week I’ve posted breaking news on this board, only to have it generate literally zero replies and twenty minutes later someone else posts the exact same information which immediately leads to a massive discussion.

So, I got to ask, what did ol’ Larry do to you all? Am I being shunned?

They can't keep Izzo around. I'd like to think that if we were in the same situation with Belein or Harbaugh, we'd toss them out on their asses instead of keep them for the sake of hero-worship. And for all of his faults, I don't think Schissel would ever stand for this.

A key distinction here is that Schlissel in particular, and Michigan's senior leadership generally, is not inbred like they are in East Lansing. There is no accumlated devotion to misguided hero worship because we hire nationally renonwed academic adminstrators and they find someone who's been around for 40 years drinking the kool aid. Schlissel went Princeton --> Hopkins --> Cal --> Brown. MSC was at Grinnel, UNC, Kentucky, and is now the President of the AAU itself.

Peter McPherson: MSU undergrad (and accomplished Federal appointee and private sector lawyer)

Lou Anna Simon: MSU PhD in 1974. Never left.

Engler: MSU undergrad and general good old boy politician.

The last MSU President that did not have a degree from the school left in 1992 (DiBiaggio). Michigan hasn't had a University President with a Michigan degree since at least before Robben Fleming in 1968.

“The MSUCC staff made it clear to (the victim) that if she chose to notify the police, she faced an uphill battle that would create anxiety and unwanted media attention and publicity as had happened with many other female students who were sexually assaulted by well-known athletes,”

Detroit News Link

If true, is this selection from the Detroit News not admitting that MSU has a rotten culture?

to this lawsuit was interview the counselors. That statement could mean a few different things, most of them very bad for MSU. There's also a suggestion that police and/or prosecutors are complicit.

They need the counselors to be able to convincingly deny saying it while under oath. Expect them to come out and attack the plaintiff. Even if they settle this case, there is a federal Title IX investigation to deal with.

That should be, like, a marketing motto for MSU:

"Well howdy folks, come on down to Michigan State University, where we GUAR-AN-TEE a rape-free environment the first semester of your freshman year, or YOUR MONEY BACK!!!" **GUY IN COWBOY HAT AND BOOTS SHOOTS IMAGINARY PISTOLS IN THE AIR**

truly doubt her statement, I'm always 'worried' about the 'me too' effect without some details. At some point it becomes a matter of people potentially jumping into the fray of accusations, without proof.

I hope to hell MSU and all of those associated with the shit pile are nailed to an outhouse in Bolivia, and certainly want to believe she and all victims are able to find resolution and justice. I do not doubt it happened, it seems like an endless mess, and I also realize many women won't come forward out of fear, embarrassment, and it seems like if they attend MSU, out of pure terrorizing 'counselors' who care more about the W and image than actually HELPING someone. To hell with MSU.

Is unbelievable. The rape culture at MSU has surpassed any other institution of higher learning in all metrics of victims impacted.

This poor girl tried several times using several different offices at the university to get some action and help, and they just basically told her to fuck off each time. This crime was known by everyone in the athletic department and the basketball program. "Hey, honey, we're in the final four! But here's your money back. Sorry again about the multiple rapes."
