South University Ave. after the win
I'm sure most of you are already familiar with this scene, but as someone who sadly no longer lives in the Mitten state, it brings me so much joy to see people rally around this team, from both the campus to the rather impressive amount of fans that travel. Go Blue

Reminds me of '92 and '93 when we ran all over campus after each win untill we got teargassed! I still have all of that on VHS somewhere.
I was there for all 3, and trust me, it is the exact opposite of 92/93.
In '92 '93 we tipped over cop cars and burned shit. Go read about it on microfiche.
I didn't punch a cop's horse. I did get the fuck out of the way when fire engines came screaming down South U. My momma didn't raise no dummies.
In '89 I punched a cop's horse ...My momma didn't raise no dummies.
The horse had been talking shit all night and definitely had it coming to him.
Those fire engines were a huge red target for flying beer bottles, if I remember correctly.
Second was during the ‘95 naked mile near the art museum. Wrong place wrong time. Ah, my days in A2....
Sorry, I looked at the ncaa results from 92/93 and THEY say Michigan was not in the Final Four - SO whatchu talkin bout?
Bruh...
Remember the roof getting torn off of...China Gate was it? Old memories.

Wish I was there

So happy for those kids to enjoy this run!

Instead of booking a flight to San Antonio, I decided to book a hotel in Ann Arbor for Monday. I was in Atlanta in 2013, and I have decided that I want to go back (matthew mcconaughey voice) to the street I spent so much time on as a student (South U). It is going to be a special night

is probably the Jalen jersey. Good times.
That's awesome!! Thanks for sharing... I hope the party Monday night dwarfs this one!
about once every two years, usually for Homecoming. Why oh why did Ashley’s pub have to open AFTER I graduated!?
Some Youtube links from tonight for those of us who wish we were in Ann Arbor:
This is awesome.
Oh, to be young again.
For some reason, we didin't do this during our magic 1984 NIT run.
Nor 1997 either. Though some bureaucrats claim that never happened.
My post was so nice - I must've posted twice. Doh!
Where's the guy hanging off the stoplight?
In 1989.... was one amazing night.
It was epic.
But I'm still amazed that we all somehow knew to go to that corner.
It's instinct.
Avatar checks out.
It was a terrific scene. One of my dorm mates made the late news for jumping up and down on the News van. I remember people stacking newspaper boxes to get to the traffic lights, and even kissed a few random girls out of pure joy.
One of the best nights of my life.
Plus the Dead played two shows at Crisler that year!
Yeah, reminds me of 92 and 93.
I missed the tear gas by about five minutes.
GOOD TIMES.
Greatest fan base on earth
Or at least in NYC, LA, San Antonio . . .
And Michigan...
Take note, East Lansing.
i doubt they will celebrate anything anytime soon. HAIL!!
Did you read the article?

There was one burning couch. One bonfire. One trash can fire.
Having spent the weekend in East Lansing I can confirm that all the students have left, some most likely for Ann Arbor, so there's a very likely chance the attempted couch burning was an out of town guest trying to spread the love.
Give ya boy some sherbert!
The San Antonio scene is even better :)
Protect Chef Chan and his many medals!!!
It’s chef Jan. He hasn’t won a medal in quite some time. But that king pao chicken is still so damn good.
But that Michigan state idiot on 97.6 says we have no fan base? Go Blue. Win it all.
because he's a blowhard with a kill switch.
Before anyone tries to compare our Celebration to those of Sparty, we unfortunately had a few visiting State students try and light shit on fire :)

You know, I look at that photo of the kid trying to touch the traffic control light and can't help but think that while those things are considerably lighter than they used to be, they still aren't that light and trying to add one's own weight to the strands designed to support only what they are supporting is a monumentally dumb idea.
A timeless tradition!
I'm willing to help fund it this time around.
We have a fracas benefactor for Monday night apparently. Noted.
A hop-in roller hot dog set me right after being gassed in both ‘92 and ‘93 on south u during the fab five era. I can still recall the acrid taste (of the dog, that is)
One more time!!
