Michigan Homer Feed on TNT

Love me some Sanjay Gupta
March 31st, 2018 at 10:47 PM ^
But it was missing James Earl Jones
March 31st, 2018 at 11:17 PM ^
Liked that they went to him when they thought there was a Loyola injury. The Sanjay Gupta medical report.

It definitely helped me maintain my sanity when we were down for that extended period of time. It was pro-Michigan, but not obnoxious. Definitely the go to Monday night!
March 31st, 2018 at 10:46 PM ^
Give me Chris Weber, Dugan Fife and Dhani Jones, then I’ll watch.
March 31st, 2018 at 10:49 PM ^
Maybe if you spelled Webber correctly, then recalled Michigan Basketball in the 2000s.

Weber State vs MSU in 1995

Deep pull!
March 31st, 2018 at 10:49 PM ^
Thought the analysis was shit so watched TBS. should’ve given us Weber.
March 31st, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
Ugh... Webber
March 31st, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
I couldn't listen to the main broadcast after the first half. It definitely made the game more tolerable.
I did the exact same thing. Much better.
March 31st, 2018 at 10:51 PM ^
It was fantastic. I didn’t watch one second of the national feed.
March 31st, 2018 at 10:51 PM ^
I didn’t know about it until about 9~ish minutes to go. It saved my sanity! Loved it!
March 31st, 2018 at 10:58 PM ^
Have we learned nothing!? Echo chambers create dangerous ignorance. Beware the fancast.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:01 PM ^
Nothing the broadcast team says had any impact on the play. I just think it helps the nerves.
A lot like hearing Our Champion during the worst of the Lions years complaining along with the listeners with his “Man o man” comments
March 31st, 2018 at 10:59 PM ^
Anybody that needs a former b-ball player to tell them that M needs to make shots probably should stick to the national broadcast.
Sucks
March 31st, 2018 at 10:59 PM ^
I know it was partisan, but it was nice to just feel like the announcers weren't openly hoping we'd lose for once
March 31st, 2018 at 11:02 PM ^
I forgot about it. I'm kicking myself for sitting through two hours of Jim Nantz when this was available...
March 31st, 2018 at 11:04 PM ^
For the first half, I watched the National Broadcast. I thought it would help me keep my bias in check if I was listening to neutral announcers instead of Michigan homers convincing me we were getting screwed.
Since the first half didn’t go our way, I decided to make a change and tune into the Michigan broadcast for the second half and I seemed to like that much better! Michigan homer channel all the way for me with the Natty Game!
Agree with the sentiment, but I must continue to tilt at the windmill that is the use of “natty” to represent anything other than “well-dressed” or “watery beer-like substance.” You’re only saving a single syllable. Please, consider future abbreviations, and think before you type. ;)
It needs to be capitalized. Also, 'natty' doesn't mean 'well dressed', it's 'nattily'; I don't know about the 'watery beer-like substance' reference either, did you mean 'nasty'?
He was referring to Natural Light Beer, which people call Natty Light, but I don't because I don't drink it :)
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/natty
A person is dressed nattily if he is wearing natty clothing. Adjective / adverb. :)
Noted! I don't think I ever used "Natty" in that sense before, so I don't know why I did last night! However, had I said "National" it would have been followed by "Championship" game, or "Title" game, so it saved me more than just the one syllable ;)
I will try to refrain from using slang in the future to sound more proper :)
Go Blue and Happy Easter!
We all make mistakes from time to time. Consider yourself forgiven. ;)
Happy Easter to you as well, and Go Blue! These next 30+ hours are going to take forever... :)

Was at a bar in Ohio and they had Loyola’s feed playing over the speakers. Quite a few Buckeye fans were loud and cheering thinking UM was going to lose....they were oddly quiet at the games end....Buckeye tears are tasty even when they are for other teams.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:32 PM ^
Ah yes. It was glorious.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:07 PM ^
Personally I’ve never been a fan of them. I also don’t think the neutral announcers are bad, though. People get on Wagner every game which I’m sure other fans get tired of. And the crew we got tonight is about as good as any in college basketball. I’m glad they have them, though. Gives people options.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:07 PM ^
I switched to it in the second half. I'm glad I did. Like a breath of fresh air.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:13 PM ^
Exactly the same - switched in second half. So much easier to listen. I’ll watch the whole game Monday that way.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:13 PM ^
I am going to be honest here - I did not even realize that there was a pro-Michigan feed until it came up as a promotion on the national broadcast on TBS. Part of that is me latching onto the key points like which channel we're going to be on and not doing much further research, but I would be interested to know how it went overall.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:19 PM ^
But I don’t expect too much. My favorite part was when they asked Sanjay Gupta for his diagnosis on Townes’ injury based on a two second clip. His response was something along the lines of “he hurt himself somewhere on the leg”. Nothing like putting a Dr. on the spot on national tv.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:17 PM ^
The analysis wasn't exactly top shelf, but then again I've had to listen to Reggie Miller talk about fsu "running Michigan off the three point line" while they're pulling up for uncontested, wide open threes. Also, I don't think they mentioned Sister Jean once. She was a nice story for sure and added to the tournament, but after the last week love-fest, I was ready to some Michigan homers.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:32 PM ^
I preferred the national broadcast for the balanced approach.
March 31st, 2018 at 11:34 PM ^
I changed shirts at the half and switched to the Team Cast with 10 minutes to go. I did what I could!
I turned my cap backwards a la Over the Top. Seemed to do the trick.
I started muting the TV at every block of commercials mid way thru the 2nd. Sitting in silence brough me off the ledge. Seemed to calm and refocus the team, too, so I'll take credit...
Same here. Switched to my 2013 Champions shirt at the half and the Michigan feed at the under 8

I wish we had that option for all of the games.
I would like a crowd-noise only option. This would be very popular and could save the networks some cash by cutting announcer salaries. They have been horrid all tourney.
I'd use that for every game. Don't mind the occasional stat flashed across the bottom of the screen, but that's really all I need/want.
If it was an option it would cost the networks more.
I remember in my youth watching the NFL experiment with the Miami NYJ game where there was no announcers. It was a tough watch. Depending on your age you may not remember this.

Feely can still kick the threes.
Go Blue.
That the world has come to this: Sports fans who have this phobia that the media is "out to get their team" AS IF the media cares about your team enough to actually have any feelings about them. AND it's very hard to believe the media is out to get Michigan--witha squeaky-clean coach and reputation. Just pathetic that Michigan fans believe in some sort of conspiracy--except that, again, it is a worls of self indulging babies who need echo chambers from which to clamor for self verification and validation.
And as one who thought that the game would be tilted towards Loyola to get Gramma Tooite all into Monday night, I felt the national broadcast was fine. I did tune into the Michigan team cast on TBS, though, and thought WOW these guys are gooood.
I rather enjoyed the telecast from the Michigan perspective--but really ONLY because they were very good at doing the boradcast. To be honest, except for some various comments where their bias showed--I would not have thought they were Micdhigan fans at all.
Why are you still here?
I loved it, I didnt turn on the Loyola Teamcast or the other feed either. I did like how they were able to be homers and didnt have to hide it.
i switched for the second half when things were...depressing. glad I did. They actually did a great job in addition to being more fun. The PBP guy was really good at just plain being a PBP guy, too.
I loved the TNT Michigan broadcast. I posted about it on the game thread, but I think the post was back on page 1 so most people missed the post. I didn't watch the TBS feed at all.
The Michigan fan feed had good announcers and they were openly rooting for Michigan. They cheered when we scored and worried when we didn't. I'm definitely using that feed for Monday also.
