Anyone gambling on the game?

Submitted by GoWings2008 on
Sitting here in a sports book in Vegas... Tempted to put a small wager on the game tonight. Anyone have any thoughts on the current 5.5 point spread? Edit: I'm a moran.

If you've reached such despair that you've come to this place for gambling advice, you've already lost.

I want to go watch the game at a casino sportsbook but have decided to watch it in my room.  Last time I watched Michigan in Vegas (Last year) a "Sparty asshole" - I know, redundant thought he was the show we all came to watch.  Everytime Louisville scored he would holler and run around celebrating - Good guys won  thankfully but made it less enjoyable.

Will watch this game shirtless in my room alone with delivery pizza and my best friend Jack Daniels......GO BLUE

People in Flint are trapped - their housing values dropped - can’t sell - can’t escape - have to live with the stress - glad you can make a joke about it you excrement!

You sit there on your loathsome spotty behind squeezing blackheads not caring a tinkers cuss for the struggling Flint-ites, making snide comments on a sports-blog for a cheap nose laugh or two to make your sad life less bleak.

1) Stay away from that 5.5 Line.  That looks fair.

2) Take the Over on the 129.5.  Will be more scoring than people think.

3) If you are making multiple bets at the Sports Book - Make them separately over reasonable time increments, and every time you place an individual bet, ask the dude or lady running it for free drink vouchers.  You'll get more vouchers if space out the bets.

4) Get out of that Sports Book by 10 AM and head to the pool.  Have a cocktail or two, get some sun, and check out the bikinis.  Game doesn't start for several hours - make good use of your time, my friend.

5) If you score a hottie at the pool - When it comes down to making out, always play Side One of Led Zepplin IV.

but I am the worst sports gambler on my block.  It has been proven.  But I would bet the money line on Michigan. 5.5 seems like too much.

And as for your Zeppelin reference, you heard of these 21 yr. olds from Frankenmuth?

You know no one tells how they bet UNTIL the game is over. Then all the sudden there's a bunch of WINNING going on!

Remember the last soccer season when the British team that had never won anything in like a thousand years all the sudden won it? The odds were something like 400 zillion to 1?

Yup, some guy posted here that his "father in law" had bet a thousand on that team (Leicester City??).

Just wait until the tourney is over to get gambling adivce. It'll come in spades.

Well this is awkward, I bet $1000 on a Loyola and Michigan making it to the Final Four. Been a good tourney, also had $1000 on Virginia going down to the 16. Also, feeling good on my bet on the finals, but I can’t tell you more detail until around 11-12 Monday night.

in Vegas right now - I walk past Pete Rose everyday in a little sports shop just outside the Mandalay Bay - thinking of seeking his advice on how to bet on these games.  I don't want to jinx the good guys so I will probably just keep my money in my wallet.  I think it will be a frustrating game for some reason but the good guys will win by 7 or 8....Go Blue

I'd stick with KenPom if I was, but I have a sense we run them out of the gym and win by 15-20. They had favorable matchups with teams missing players. We are healthy. We can pull their big out of the lane and then Matthews can feast on their smaller defenders. He has trouble when he goes inside and is met by 6'9" or 6'10" guys. Loyola doesn't have those guys. This will be like the non-conference games where everyone was singing his praises. When Loyola starts to help by sagging into the lane, that opens up Duncan and Moe. I've got Matthews with 18-20 points and 6 assists. We hit at least 10 threes and win comfortably. Loyola is not able to get good looks against our defense. They commit 2-3 shot clock violations and have to jack up 5-6 bad shots to beat the clock. Michigan outrebounds the smaller Loyolans, forces more TOs and we make hay with 10 extra possessions.

I have a feeling our D will shut them down.  But there's always going to be that guy that is drilling all the shots for the other team and will keep them in the game probably early into the second half.  But then our shooters will take over and we will win by double digits after a few missed front end FT's down the stretch that will make my blood boil.  That's how I see it.  I have two wagers, one on -5 and the other on -5.5.
