Go Blue for Xavier Simpson Day

Submitted by Spunky on

Lima City Schools are honoring Simpson today. Students were encouraged to wear Michigan gear (those who root for the evil Buckeyes can wear plain blue tops).

According to Superintendent Ackerman:

We’re really proud of him. To sit back and watch him play in the Sweet 16 and to hear the commentators said "Zavier Simpson from Lima Senior High School in Lima, Ohio," he’s put us on the map. We want to support Zavier. We’re all behind him and proud of him.

How cool is that!

He still goes by X, but yes Zavier is now the proper spelling. Either way who cares, just be happy for the man. He is our leader. This is big for Lima, kind of a forgotten city. Hard work pays off.

Wow. You use a block quote that contains his name multiple times, and yet you proceed to spell his name wrong multiple times.

Being from a nearby community, it is good to see these kids have a good role model from their own school. Not saying he is the only one, but Lima can be a rough city.

I work in Lima. I made sure to participate in Xavier Simpson day with my Michigan polo. It's amazing how many of my buckeye coworkers are pulling for us because of Xavier!
