We will never forget this season, regardless of what happens next. However, we all have plenty of reason to think that this team could be playing on Monday night. And, we can definitely win on Monday night as well. It is such a special time to be a Michigan fan. Everything is coming up aces, and the greatness is going to continue for the foreseeable future. Go blue!

34 sounds way better though!

boys and girls. Soak it all in tonight, sober up more or less, and tune in again tomorrow.

If we beat Loyola (still waiting for the proprietors to put together a scouting report that scares my socks off, just like every other team) we will be decided underdogs in the final against, probably, Nova or Kansas or Duke.
Teams that aren't just athletic, but really gifted.
We'll be dogs and we should be. It would be an unlikely, uphill battle.
But it's one game, and even with a, say, 30% chance to win, would I take that at the beginning of the season? At the beginning of the tournament? At the beginning of the weekend?
100 times out of 100. What a run.
March 25th, 2018 at 12:39 AM ^
beginning of the season we were hanging with the "others receiving votes"
what a job by Beilein and these kids. love 'em!

They love Michigan. They play defense. They can shoot the lights out when they're on. Give Coach B a week to prepare and anything can happen. Go Blue! Bring home wins 33 and 34!

the year for optimism.
we may go undefeated next year
I now fear losing Chuck. Oh and Barkley is a jackass moron. (The worst kind fwiw)
March 25th, 2018 at 12:38 AM ^
This team finds a way to win. They kinda remind me of 04' Pistons college bball version in that they are a sum of all their parts as opposed to a few stars with complimentary role pieces
March 25th, 2018 at 12:47 AM ^
That's kind of a good comparison. There's no go-to star or offensive force. But they win.
March 25th, 2018 at 12:50 AM ^
is truly impressive. M has never been better on that end of the court as far as I can recall
we have enough appreciation threads already, but this seems like a relevant place to drop this snowflake: how about Teske in the final minutes? FSU went after Wagner in the second half racking up fouls. when he got his fourth and was forced to sit, the game was in a very tenuous situation.
yes, it was Z, Robinson and others who scored the points that increased the lead...but Teske held is own in that situation really well. there could have been a huge drop off without Wagner.
He looked shaky for a few...but he held strong. made a few plays.

HAIL BEILEIN!!
March 25th, 2018 at 12:41 AM ^
When he said that during the A&M game I was like... ehhh... but he actually corrected himself much later. I think it was after halftime... he said he meant the best defensive team by far.

We aren’t as efficient on O as some of our great squads, but this team plays lockdown Defense. Time for some Churros!
March 25th, 2018 at 12:52 AM ^
This doesn't seem as organically fun as 2013, but it feels far more satisfying. We're seeing a program running at full speed.
Interesting take. 2013 was more guys at the extremes. Those few could play with anyone. Now we have a bit deeper rotation and those guys are responsible for just doing their roles. 2013 felt like a miracle because we hadn’t been there and had key dudes. This year fees familiar and we have balanced dudes.
I feel like it's not as exciting because we've gotten luckier seeds this year than 2013
March 25th, 2018 at 12:53 AM ^
if we don't gut that out, we're probably 5 or 6 seed right? And we are probably not in the final four right now
I very much enjoy when our coach is the smartest person on the court.
It's great to be....
ITS GREAT TO BE A WOLVERINE!!
I LOVED the 2013 team (and all our great teams over the years), but I'm enjoying this season more than any previous year!
This team has grown more, and exceeded expectations by a greater margin than any Michigan team I've watched.
When we got drubbed by NC and struggled against any decent team we faced early on, I saw a team that didn't have a PG, couldn't shoot, couldn't make FT's, and was inconsistent defensively.
Somehow, our mad scientist of a coach has magically concocted a very dangerous brew.
Z has turned into an absolute beast. Duncan Robinson has improbably turned into a fine defender and has displayed incredible senior leadership, giving up his starting role yet still coming up huge in the clutch. Wagner's ebullient personality and big-time skills cause matchup nightmares and help drive the entire team, Matthews plays with stone-cold courage in the biggest games. MAAR is playing and leading at a level no one thought possible. Teske emerging as a dynamic force. The freshmen providing exuberance, depth - and a miraculous clutch shot too.
I'm having a blast - and they are too!
Go Blue!
Yes? Yes?
Yes.
Now THIS is a posbang thread

Maybe a not so popular opinion, but I actually enjoyed the 2014 team more than the 2013 team. Watching Stauskas torch MSU at the Breslin, the Dakich-deemed "cold blooded" step back 3 to beat Wisconsin at Kohl, and in general the insane offensive prowess that team had. Every game felt like the team could go off for 90
