Surely it wasn't as loud as New York, was it? It makes you wonder if there is another institution with such a presence. During the post game interview Mo commented on the crowd; he was genuinely surprised Michigan was so popular from coast to coast.

I was there today (live in LA) and was at the Nebraska/MSU games at MSG (visiting friends in NYC).
I'd say it was close in terms of pure UM fan volume, maybe a slight edge tonight, but much more of an advantage because in New York MSU also had a solid contingent so it felt neutral but this truly felt like a home game. MSG was louder overall for the MSU game, but that was due to lots of Sparty noise. Michigan fans alone were probably louder today.
I think the game most apt to compare would be the Purdue BTT game, but I can't speak to that one, had to leave Sunday afternoon.
Anyways, I'd give LA a very slight edge (West Coast, Best Coast), but both were incredible. We are a part of the most universal alumni base/fanbase in the US!
Can I borrow some money?

Mike Valenti always spouts off that Michigan basketball has no fanbase. Hey Mikie...we took over Madison Square Garden and we're taking over the Staples Center. Sparty couldn't accomplish that in a wet dream.

Indeed! Crowd was awesome!

I think they got the message already, based on tonight.
What about Oregon? If Washington is included, those Portlandian Wolverines better make it down!
So proud of the West Coast Wolverine contingent!
