Baseball BTT: Semi-final vs Minnesota Open Thread

Pregame reading:

Game is on the BTN at 7pm ET, just over an hour away.

Brosnahan on the mound for Michigan. He's a redshirt freshmen lefty. Lots of emotion behind his pitches. He can be a little wild, but he's done well about it for the most part. He was a All-Big Ten Freshman teamer.

No word yet if the bar I go to will have their wifi fixed. I'll be tweeting thoughts sporadically. If it's via phone, they may not be as valuable.

Go Blue. Beat the Gophers.

Aside from the monstrous task at hand, I wonder if we can mentally come back to beat Minny?  That's an absolute dong-punch.  Brosnahan was fantastic, better than could've been hoped for, and we blew the golden chance.

Get some rest guys, you'll need it now.  Go Blue.

Baseball loses.  Softball loses.  The Tigers lose to a crappy Oakland team (after blowing 2 in Seattle).  Man, this holiday weekend is off to a great start!

Good news: I predict a win against Iowa. Working on post now.

More good news: I won't have a prediction for Minnesota if we beat Iowa tomorrow. Too hard to write a post at the bar in the 30 minutes between games. Even if we do, there is a chance I might choose a win. Depends who's available to start.

10 Ks (8 looking - absolutely awful);  Worse was that only 2 Ks were prior to the 8th inning - boy did we pucker up with it on the line)

2 for 16 (.125) with RISP (5 times were only 1 out with RISP);  1 was a sac bunt so to be fair 2 for 15

Bright side? Can't possibly happen again tomorrow.

I don't get much time to sit and listen/watch anything for 3 hours much (and if I do, I'll always prefer it live - lucky to have a good little ballclub in my backyard - CCU), but when it means something I make it happen.  I appreciate your stuff keeping me in touch through the season when I can't.  Thanks.

behind the plate.  The corners though, it's post-season baby.  It's widely talked about, how the zone shrinks come tourny time.  I've always thought that factor is the biggest/make all the difference entity for the big conference teams.  The "best" pitchers can still get you out throwing it down the middle.  Lesser guys get lit up.  Come playoffs you've got to get ahead, it's the only way you'll get guys out "around" the plate - once you've "earned that corner" or when they're chasing.  Matyas did an EXCELLENT job of it tonight.
